Vincent Gill would NEVER try to influence the change of any portion of the Eagles sound or music . At one point the band asked Vince if he would include a few of his songs during a concert. Although it was flattering and a sighn of acceptance by the band members Vince declined stating that the fans came to see the Eagles and that his acceptance by the fans into the group wasn't always well received it wouldn't be something that he felt would benefit the band. That's Vince Gill .

Vince Gill is a stand-in not a replacement. Regarding Deacon Frey, I think it is amazing that his contribution fills a space that was there when Glenn was there. Room for Deacon has always existed even though there was nothing missing. Sonically, his voice has a place in their harmonies and he can cover Glenn's leads his own way without them being disappointing. It helps that it is his son when I think it isn't Glenn but Deacon also sings them quite adequately. Deacon certainly fits in just as well as Timothy B. Schmit and Joe Walsh.

I saw the Eagles live in Cleveland, Ohio, for the first time. It was magic. Two hour performance, Joe was sober, and "Fingers" Felder was still with the band. Magic. When I saw them again, Don Felder had been replaced by a clearly less skilled guitarist. I never bothered to learn his name. Joe was drunk, and his brilliance was replaced by loudness. It was sad. I love Vince. I love the Eagles with Don Felder. That is all gone. It can't be recovered. Let it go guys, we will remember you fondly forever. Not to worry.

Early in clip Vince was offered gig to "pretend to be Glen Frey", not doable. Glen was a great singer, song writer and player. But Vince and Glen sang on opposite vocal registers. Neither could "pretend" to sing or play the others catalogue without adjustment to the sound. I have been a fan of both the Eagles, Vince Gill and Glen Frey solo efforts. All are/were supremely gifted artists. This is a bullshit video. Watching it wasted a part of my life I can never get back.

Most of the video shows other musicians and situations that weren't with the Eagles. And Glen, although a very good musician wasn't "beloved" by everyone and was in fact the most disruptive member.
