Watching The Andy Griffith Show was one of the highlights of my childhood! I don’t think I ever missed an episode. I had no idea “Otis” did voiceovers on my favorite cartoon, Huckleberry Hound Dog! This was what surprised me most of all the facts pointed out in the video.🌷💐

Bobby loses but his siblings get him a trophy for being a great brother. But I love Otis on the Andy Griffith show. Hal played a drunk very well.

I spoke recently with a relative close to Don Knott's and he claimed Ron H and Andy Griffith had a very good relationship. In fact together, both payed a visit to Francis Bavier's home in North Carolina. She refused to answer the door leaving Andy and Ron on the porch. She later said she regretted the way she handled it.

My father looked soooo much like Andy Griffith, young and old. It always kind of freaks me out when I see him. Dad even had a very similar demeanor as the tv character Andy created for the show minus any wise-father advice. Favorite line from the show: Barney: “You’re going to let her make more of those kerosene cucumbers!” Aunt Bea made horrible pickles, and nobody could tell her for fear of hurting her feelings. Haaaaaa!

Also, although this title was extremely click-baity, the video never tells who Ron "truly hated" in your title. I'm surprised that you didn't mention Don Knotts becoming a recurring character on Matlock especially considering how repetitive this video is.

Here's something not mentioned: Shows such as Andy Griffith/mayberry RFD/Gomer Pyle and the other association Beverly Hillbillies" and "Petticoat Junction," as well as shows like "The Farmer's Daughter" were obliterated from prime time by the so-called "Rural Purge" of the late 1960's/early 70's. I loved and still love The Andy Griffith show. I grew up on it and my family watched it as me and my kids watched it. I still watch the reruns today. The only character that was and still is even more so today that really gets under my Skin is Aunt Bee. I just can't take her shrilly voice. It's more sickening to me today I must admit. I often wondered why couldn't they have gotten someone else to play the part? Aunt BEE and her being thirsty for a man used to make me think who would want to be with you with that killing voice. Anyway I still enjoy the show today. 😅

NOBODY! It was AUNT BEE, that really Hated Andy Griffith on and off set. I don't know why they even brought BEE'S character into the show because she was Annoying with her sickening Voice, being thirsty for a man, and that fake prim and proper persona just didn't fit. I loved ALL the other characters except BEE.

Every word is treated as if it is the Most.Important.Word.Ever. I wish--if I'm to be forced to listen to robots the rest of my life*--that they would at least train their model the correct pronunciations of various, possibly unfamiliar, terms or names in advance (or correct it when it errs). I think it pronounced Bavier's name differently at least three times, but never really go it right.

The main characters that i loved besides Andy and Barney were OTIS, THE DARLING 'S, The FUN GIRLS, and The Nut that loved to throw rocks through windows ( cant think of his name, was it ERNEST. P.) Floyd and most of the rest of the cast, again Except Aunt Bee.

So many of these shows should simply be allowed to fade into history. I remember them from my childhood and they were what they were. They were fun then and I appreciate them for what they were, but do not hold up. The sugary, sweet nature, the innocent backdrop, the perfect father / son moments and finally, the 'everything is perfect' here in my hometown is too much. It does not represent reality in any way and yet, I know so many people who pine for these supposed days of yore. Now in my 50s, I say, Get Over It. It is beyond time to move on, into reality and live your life.
