It is the exact same for me….when I have the TV on it this show that I watch 95% of the time! Such a classic and touches the heart and brings real from the soul laughter! I’ve never found a show that I love more… A close runner up is Little House on the Prairie.

I watch it on Pluto. When the tv. is on is mostly on the Andy Griffith show. Is such a wholesome and heart warming show. I love it SO VERY MUCH! 😍 and I didn't even grow up in the United States. But It makes me feel like I have. It's definitely comfort food for the soul. Maybe it has to do in part with those good old days gone long ago. In a way I wish I was living in those days.

This show wasn't just loved in the US and Canada, it was also beloved in Australia because Aussies understood the small town vibe of the show. I vividly remember watching the show with my parents as a little kid. We'd be in front of our Astor (local Aussie brand) 21" b/w tv just loving every minute of every episode. I think the reason why my family loved the show (and I suppose most families did) was because of the natural warmth the actors created. And yes, we laughed WITH the actors, not at them. Vale to all the actors portrayed in this reunion show. All of them not only created a great tv show but cultural history. They engendered a love for the simple values underlying the US in every nation which took the show. I know that I have an abiding love for the US as our cousins across the sea.

Later on, my work was in Law Enforcement and though some may laugh, I remembered a lot of how 'Sheriff Taylor' did his job on the show and often dealt with the citizens in much the same as I thought he would have treated them. I never had complaints of excessive force made against me or such. I feel that the influence of his character on the show was part of the reason.

Don't fear growing old it is a gift not bestowed upon many. Fear not death and have no regrets. Love is the glue that makes all of this possible. When the world seems so cold there are such reminders of this especially in shows such as this. We need better tv shows now days. The vulgarity of modern tv reminds me of how things have to be better. Not in any mean or military sense but in a sense of humour and in a sense of honour.

Was thinking of my dad this morning. He passed in February and loved this show. I was searching around and found this. This was fantastic and the old commercials just made it better. Thanks so much for posting!

I loved watching this it reminded me so much of my mom's dad who I called my daddy he was like my dad when I never knew my biological father. He was alot like Andy the way he smoke and reasoned things out. I miss him he died when I was 7. And every time I watched andy it's like spending time with him. But I loved andy and barney and opie. RIP don and andy .

The Andy Griffith Show was shown on ATN 7 in Sydney, Australia, and was a big hit. Look at Ron Howard. He's still a big-time director, to go from child actor to one of the biggest names in Hollywood.

Greatest TV show ever. Even though we now know that it was all a Hollywood set, we accept it because even that is now gone. There’s magic in what we see on TV and magic behind the scenes and all of it is something we’ll never see the likes of again.

Because it wasn't the final goodbye...they hung out after the show, Don was sad because he got word of John Ritter's death
