Had the story ended with Ruyi's ascencion as Empress, then her happiness as Qingying with her Hongli would have been perfect. Breaks my heart knowing what happens next. She deserved the world. I am glad Hongli came to regret how he treated her, although it was much too late to make amends for that.

Actually, anything indoors is done on set, while the actual outside locations, is done on an actual replica palace of the Forbidden City. Meaning: anything within walking in the corridors to the other palace, real thing. Beside their on locations place they have to go.
