I don't think her families safety would've mattered much to her. I think it was more her jealousy of Consort Xian that kept her mouth shut. A'ruo was probably hoping not implicating the other 2 would ensure they could try to bring down Consort Xian again after A'rou was gone

@@L1ss64 If her family didn't matter to her, she would've told everything. She was going to say more until Hui brought up her family and then later her maid tells her her brothers are being held hostage. So yeah, her family's safety was important to her. Plus, these are men, who are the only ones who can continue the family name which was also very important. A'Ruo wasn't smart enough to think that far ahead. You give her too much credit.

Telling the emperor is stupid in the end because regardless of what anyone says he still gave the first empress praise and Ling son became the next emperor whilst the ones who tried to stop it by telling on them still didn’t get any justice so in my opinion they all still lost to the people who are portrayed as being wicked 😂
