We got my cat because his name was Bob Ross at the shelter! My partner and I are both artists so it was only fitting. Love this piece! I think it’s so important to do hobbies just for fun and not have to be a perfectionist about it. I love a lot of things that I’m not amazing at but always have fun. (Yoga, cooking, singing, etc.)

More ideas that I’ve been doing recently is painting my own nails at home and trying to do cute patterns even though it doesn’t come out like a professional did it. Also getting a coloring book and markers (I got mine from Five Below so it’s a super cheap idea that you will last you a while!) I like painting but having to clean up after keeps me from doing it when I’m super burned out. So coloring is a good alternative for those days! Another one is start a scrap book 😊

I absolutely adore you! I too am an introvert, but I didn’t realize it until my 30’s. I used to force myself to be social, and I would get so tired and moody. One day I realized that if I get time to myself I’m a much better mother, wife, and friend. Now I have no problem scheduling a date with my favorite person- me!

Bob Ross’ technique is called wet on wet which uses oil paint rather than acrylic because oil paint takes a looong time to dry compared to water based paints like acrylic. This means while the paint is still wet you paint over it with new colours and you can blend together and scrape the paint into cool shapes etc! I believe it can be done with acrylic paint too if you’re really quick or if you spray the paint with water to keep it wet but I think the traditional oil paint method is probably best if you ever want to try out a Bob Ross style wet on wet canvas painting 😊 my partner does them and he finds them so relaxing!

My husband is a firefighter/emt who is full time at one department, part time at a second department and also in medic school… it feels like I never see him. Most of the time, it’s fine and I can keep myself occupied. Other times, it feels incredibly solitary and lonely. I miss him a lot. I just wanted you to know that I can relate. Let me just say that for your first attempt your painting was really good. I love to watch Bob Ross but it takes too long for oil paint to dry, so I have started learning to paint with watercolors, the paint you got would work for those techniques also. I have been following Emily Olson and Emma Jane Lefebvre on KZbin, check them out. I love taking a long hot relaxing bubble bath, your view alone would make it magical. I need to try to make those scones, they look really good. Since I live alone I like these type of videos.
