At Home with Mom, Can we get her to eat more? VLOG

Queen "G" is now out of the hospital since Halloween day. My duties as her full time caregiver has a tiny bit increased. I'm doing all that I can to get her to eat since she had lost severe weight and appetite. Here is our story. Caregiving is rewarding, but there are so many terrifying moments in between this difficult journey when you care for the one you love, like your mom.

My mom is currently having a difficult time losing her 14 yr old companion cat, Kitty. We had to put her down after kidney failure. She showed improvement, and we did everything for her, for my mom. Unfortunately, we had to put her to sleep early March 2023. Kitty would like to ask if anyone is able to help Queen "G" with all the $10k PLUS medical bills. If so, anything will help. PTL!@no cancer! One thing I never caught on with my elderly parents was that having a loss of appetite (as well as fevers and/or falling) was a sign of something being wrong (most likely it's something minor and treatable since cancer was ruled out). There's no training or elder care manual for warning signs, caregivers learn by trial and error. My sister and I just thought having a loss of appetite was one of the phases of getting older. Hopefully, by now, Queen G is eating, but if not, keep testing to rule things out. One other word of advice that you probably already know is for every doctor visit, keep requesting PT to build strength (exercising led by us caregivers is often challenging to fit into the daily schedule). As long as PT is ordered by the physician, it should be covered by insurance and/or IHS. PT helped keep my parents energized. As the main caregiver, I know how it is to be in the zone and on top of everything for your beautiful momma and unintentionally neglecting your own needs. When possible, treat yourself to minor housekeeping service once in a while, learn to trust God and let Him carry your burden, and go out to lunch/dinner with Jay and/or friends for a few hours once in a while. You're doing an extraordinary job in the care of your beautiful momma, Dee. Having Jay there alongside you is a blessing, more than you know. Keep doing what you're doing. ♥P.S. Maybe someone on the rez can send you roasted blue corn meal and juniper ash so you can make mush for your momma. My parents loved eating blue corn mush.

I'm glad your mom is home and feeling better. I enjoy your vlogs. Cherish your time with your mom, and make memories with her. I lost my mom to cancer in August of 2022. It was so hard 😢. Your clan is what my kids are born for. Happy belated Christmas 🎄 and a wonderful new year.
