Crockpot Stuffing and more! from the Christmas Progressive Dinner!

The playlist to each house is the following • Christmas Progressive ...
Dee's Crockpot Stuffing
2 cups of chopped celery
2 cups of chopped white onion
8 oz or 12 oz of sliced mushrooms
1 cup of butter
1/4 cup or less of Parsley
1 box of Mrs. Cubbison's SEASONED stuffing
2 3/4 cups of Chicken broth
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp dried thyme
Sauté the vegetables for 8 minutes total in butter over medium heat. In a large bowl, pour cooked vegetables over the bread and season and mix well. Next, add in 2 cups of chicken broth and then the beaten eggs, mix well. Add mixture into crockpot. Cook on high for 45 minutes, then turn it down to low for 4 to 6 hours. Add in extra 3/4 cup to 1 cup more of chicken broth if needed as it cooks. Fluff with fork. Enjoy!

My mom is currently having a difficult time losing her 14 yr old companion cat, Kitty. We had to put her down after kidney failure. She showed improvement, and we did everything for her, for my mom. Hey Dee, I'm going to give this crockpost stuffing a try. I've been wondering how a crockpot stuffing would work out but you've made me think it could be delicious. And I totally get it...I enjoy cooking more now then when I was younger. I have the time to devote to cooking now without being pulled in a thousand different directions. Now...I like everything about this dressing recipe but the mushrooms. We've got mushroom allergies so I'll have to leave those out but maybe throw ing some green peppers? Where do you get that Mrs. Cubbinson?s seasoning? I usually get the Pepperidge Farms cornbread stuffing mix because it has all the seasons I like in it. You know, another thing I like to do is look at what kind of dishes other homemakers use. This was so fun. Thank you for joining us on this journey. Well...I'm off to the next stop on this holiday meal train.

Ha we were watching home alone today! Yummy stuffing! I never put mushrooms in stuffing. We do love mushrooms in everything so I’m sure the guys would like that next time I make stuffing.

That’s so funny. I remember my grandma made lasagna as well for supper before Christmas Eve mass. Maybe not every Christmas Eve sometimes it was her fish chowder or fishcakes but lasagna I remember having quite often. it was a great meal to feed everyone.
