Had a motor home in between so going to give it another go, been on a seasonal pith at Kelvedon Hatch this year in a new to us caravan a Bailey Kadiz so will give Norfolk another go next year keep up the good work , and thank for taking us on your adventures

I also use Andrew’s dishwasher pod tip in our toilet cassette and agree it does a brilliant job and works better than the Thetford cleaner. I'm a SPRITE Cruzer 520sr (export model) owner from Germany and enjoy you videos! We flush our Wastemaster at every end of a stay with water, and then we put just a small splash of Aqua Kem Blue together with 500 ml water in it. The rocking while driving cleans it perfectly and it also get a nice smell. To keep our sink-sewer clean I also put some drops Aqua Kem Blue into our spout once a week during a stay. As long as the grey-water of the campsite is treated by a sewage plant it is not a problem. Thanks for your videos and best regards form Germany ...

Hi Dave, Helen, watched your blog on getting ready for this years trips. Some really good tips, some I have already tried. I mentioned before about the height of a carbon monoxide monitor should be lower than your head, ie when in bed. You mentioned about the monitors batteries, this alone does not mean the monitor is working safely, the Co cell could be dead as silicon spray polish can kill them off or just time itself. Better to purchase a new one when the battery dies. Another tip you mentioned was the mastic seals which is a really good one, I can add that Cillit bang mould cleaner is good for bringing back the white mastic. Hope this is of interest to you Dave. Good video, regarding the wheel bolts. Do not loosen them before using the torque wrench. You would need to stop and tighten them every 30 miles along your journey. Hope this makes sense.

Greetings from N.I. we caravanned from the 80s-90s then went touring by motorbike for 20 odd years, but as we approach retirement in March we decided to buy a 480 swift( just doing the deal now). I have to say you have been a revelation and inspiration for getting us back into a van, The only area we have never been in UK/Ire is Norfolk and you have changed that . I have had a broken neck and back tell helen the injections take a while to work good physio can also help.

Mine have also gotten rusty and I've been told that the alloy wheel cleaner causes this to happen. Great short clip of your Mum which is lovely for you to look back on, what a character she was. Unfortunately we had to cancel our first short trip away to Chatsworth on Thursday due to heavy snowfall in Derbyshire, our friends made it but said the journey was horrendous. Excellent as usual, I meant to tell you on your last video, those Truma flaps you were cleaning that had gone yellow will go back to yellow quite quickly, you are best removing them (they come off quite easily) and painting them with white Plastikote spray paint and some plastic primer, works a treat and is a good colour match and will not yellow again, they will look brand new

Unused wastehog, a lot of what have turned out to be pointless impulse buys that did initially look useful, the list is endless, will be a bit of a task come the day.

You could hear the desperation in Helen's voice about the length of this cold winter. Last year was the first winter I have felt like that as badly, I think that it is an age thing, I am 65 myself. That is why we booked ten days in Benidorm this January, just to get out of the cold in this country. It was wonderful and I can highly recommend it, to buck you up. We are booking up two periods in Benidorm in December and January for next winter (and even looking for a cheap apartment going forward ) followed by our normal caravanning, when our own weather improves. Go on, treat Helen next winter to a period in the sun, it will probably improve her health as well with all that lovely vitamin D. My mentor for how you should live your life is ' Guy Lombardo' now, it's later than you think ? The time for saving is over, it is time that is in short supply now. They can call me a coffin dodger all they like lol.

​@HelenandDave Just been to our storage yard, found the battery completely dead, even with a solar panel attached on the roof. Luckily I have two spare 110 amp hour batteries in the garage that we bought for something else a while ago and keep them topped up with charge. So I used one of those. Last season the motor mover was a bit iffy occasionally, and when we arrived towards the end of the year at a pitch, the water pump stopped half way through the initial fill but then restarted itself after a while, whilst being hooked up. All those problems must have been battery related. A much bigger, newer battery on now, so set for Bridlington on Tuesday now. I think next winter, I will take the battery home and keep it topped up in the garage to keep a closer eye on it and not just rely on the solar panel.

Great tips both, always used soflora disenfectant in the wastemaster and toilet cassette but like the spring clean tip with dishwasher tablets and I’ll do that. Like the shiny nuts, maybe a smear of Vaseline on the plastic nuts will stop them sticking. Once I’ve taken the covers off I’m going to check my nuts size ha ha and order some as they look great. Your blogs keep costing me money ha ha, last week cleaning products and now wheel nut covers 😂😂Great content as always Dave and Helen, here’s to many trips away this year. Tris and Nikki

I normally wash the decals with the Silky shampoo (enviro wash) that I use and then shine them up with the Silky Dry & Shine or you could try the Simoniz Back to Black, that might do the trick for you.
