Sue the mother and divorce him ASAP . Don't feel bad he abandoned you and your child. Don't let him visit you at the hospital. Tell him go home to mommy

Men seem greatly susceptible to failing to put the picture together when it's "just one thing" over and over again, especially when the thing is superficially reasonable and it makes them feel important.

I understand why Emily divorced her husband. I also understand why she would be concerned about her ex-husband putting his mother over their son. However, I have noticed that in many of these stories, it seems that the fathers don’t fight for their rights to be a part of their child’s life. Yes, the husband was a lousy husband. Yes, he should have been there for his wife when she needed to go to the hospital 🏥. He eventually came to the realization of his inexcusable behavior. He wanted to try and be a better father to his son. However, Emily had the last word. I wonder why he didn’t get a lawyer to at least get visitation rights to see his son? I understand why Emily wouldn’t want to take that chance, but there could be a chance that her ex-husband “saw the light “ 💡, changed his negative attitude, and became a good father to his son. It’s just a thought 🤔.

Imagine what a toxic and manipulative environment that child would be exposed toʻ if Emily allowed her ex access to her son. He would grow up to be the same as his father. He would treat his girlfriend/ wife the same way, and the cycle would continue. Emily put an end to the toxicity.

I would've done the same as Emily. Two parent households are important, but lot of people forget these two things: 1) neglect is abuse, shouldn't be tolerated and can't just be "worked through" 2) its better for children to have one loving, responsible parent than one parent who has to do everything and another who abandons the family and priorities others over their family. Kids will see that and will think its normal what David did and that's not okay.

Personally I call my mother on the phone every day and even if I was married, that would still be the case. That said, in this story I can understand Emily's frustration but still believe she should have allowed David to be part of his son's life. In fact, I believe Emily OWED David that opportunity.

The boy who cried "wolf" or the mother who cried "pain" - it is so grat to make people do your bidding, UNTIL you overdo it and it ends horribly for that needy person. Mothers boy is unable to fight for his new family and sticks to his toxic mother. The job and the need to provide is also a marriage killer, set your prioities "wrong" and the family crumbles into nothing... Talk AND Listen before it is too late! There are promises to keep, if you utter your marriage vows.

Emily failed to address the actual problem. His mother. He’d honestly be a horrible son if these things were true. She was manipulated him to spend time with him. The core of the issue didn’t lie with david. It lied with his mother.

David realized that he made a mistake and even went to therapy to get his issues solved. Emily jumped to divorce too soon and totally disregarded his desire to make amends. They should both have gotten marriage counseling with the understanding that if nothing changed, then they'd divorce. When a person like David has spent a lifetime being manipulated by one person it's hard to break that bond even though it's toxic. Emily could have been a little more understanding. But nope! One wrong move and it's divorce. She makes herself into a long suffering martyr instead of a woman capable of fighting back. Emily is just a "take the easy way out" coward.

I’m not sure I agree with your opinion. David saying he’s sorry doesn’t mean what you think it does. It’s great that he is going to therapy but just because he’s ready now doesn’t mean she has to forgive or forget. I don’t think she took the easy way out. I think she just loss faith in him and David was unable to make her believe in him.

@@jharris3267 I respect your opinion. But my father was a very strong and manipulative person, and it took my husband and I years to finally break that chain. If my husband hadn't been patient, understanding, and willing to work through these issues when I showed remorse and asked for help, we wouldn't have our wonderful 37 years of marriage. I am forever grateful to my husband for not giving up on me.

Emily is so vindictive here that let her depression make choices like that without even giving the guy a chance was it late yes but he sees it now so whats the problem let him be part of his sons life i hope the kid grows up resenting her for denying him a full family home. Toss the old lady in a home or something but for the love of all that will be stop using your child as an excuse to punish him when he's actually trying to make things right no matter how late it was.

Emily is ridiculous. Obviously she didn’t take her vows seriously. Yes, David acted stupidly, but does his actions warrant divorce or exclusion from his newborn son? Both David and Emily need to grow up. David needs to cut the umbilical cord from his mother and Emily needs to stop using her son as a pawn to get back at David. Lastly, David’s mother needs to be put in a home where she could make friends and stop putting so much emphasis on David. Maybe then everyone could live happily ever after.
@amyyaku5022
@amyyaku5022 23 күн бұрын
Question: why should Emily stay with a guy like this just because of her vows? David didn't take his vows seriously and missed an important part of his wife's and especially his child's life. What if he does this again and misses an important moment for the child? Why should Emily and her child have to keep suffering over David's actions? Answer is they shouldn't have to. Emily and their child are better off without him.
@starzdaze1445
@starzdaze1445 23 күн бұрын
@@amyyaku5022 If vows aren’t important enough to stay with someone, then why get married? It wasn’t as if he was messing around on her. He didn’t go upside her head. He wasn’t controlling or possessive. He didn’t gamble their life savings away. He’s not on drugs. He’s not a criminal, evading the police. He’s not jobless. Emily should have known she was marrying a momma’s boy. I’m sure those mollycoddle traits didn’t occur overnight. She knew what she was getting herself into, so why blow up now, especially when there’s a child involved? Try to work it out. Move further away if needed. If things still don’t work, at least you’ve given it your all. Don’t just walk away because your feelings got hurt. If he’s willing to take a step forward and get counseling, she should be willing to do the same.
@amyyaku5022
@amyyaku5022 23 күн бұрын
You're undermining what happened and victim blaming. He missed literally the most important thing in his life: the birth of his child. You can't just move on from that, especially when he abandoned Emily to the point where she had to call someone to take her to the hospital. What if she couldn't do that? Her and her child would've died over his selfish actions and you can't just ignore that. And it doesn't matter if she knew or not he was a momma's boy. He needed to grow up and prioritize his wife and child. You're just finding any way to blame her for his actions and its really disgusting. Honestly you have to be very ignorant to just think you can "work things out" with something like this.
@starzdaze1445
@starzdaze1445 23 күн бұрын
@@amyyaku5022 And you have to be very stupid to walk out on a marriage, because your feelings got hurt. It’s not as if he’s being dismissive about the whole situation. He’s getting help through counseling. Whatever happened to “for better or worse”? People with eggshell egos should never get married in the first place.

No offense but the husband taking his mother's side doing all her bidding and not being there for his wife who is begging him to be there with her for a doctor's appointment or even be there for the birth of their child I'm sorry If you choose to say your mother is more important than you or wife and child then divorce should happen because he is putting his mother before his own child and wife
