Kayla and her mother both are toxic. I understand that Kayla is her daughter and forgiveness is hopefully something that can be done at some point. But what about her granddaughter? What about her life? If Kayla would have succeeded (shivers) she would have been in prison for the murder of 2 innocent people.

My FAMILY is the woman I love and the child she is carrying, NOT MURDERERS AND MURDER APOLOGISTS." Yes, by all means, scream this at your mother, since she doesn't seem to get it. Murder is BAD. And all because, "It's your birthday and you announced that YOU are expecting a child with your wife. HOW DARE YOU NOT HAVE THE ATTENTION ON ME AT YOUR OWN BIRTHDAY PARTY?!" Honestly, I think Mark chose the perfect time to announce the pregnancy, as he was not taking away the attention from anyone else on THEIR special day. But that jealous witch couldn't even let him have HIS OWN BIRTHDAY for making a personal announcement, AND WENT SO FAR AS TO ATTEMPT MURDER. She needs to rot in jail, where she will HOPE that people will NOT NOTICE HER. Getting attention in prison is NOT a good thing.

Anna poisoned Ryan without warning him

I know, right? Did SHE know that he was allergic to peanuts, just like her, and so felt it appropritate to "test" it on him? Or did she not know about his allergy, and just thought, "He's a gourmand, so she has really refined taste buds, and can surely recognize peanuts if he tastes them. If he tastes it, I can ask him if he detects any peanuts! If not, it's probably safe to eat!" If Anna had SAID any of that, even in the narration, I'd think she's a good person. However, it APPEARS as if she KNEW he shared her peanut allergy, and so thought he was a good guinea pig. "Better him than me," if it were to be laced with peanut poison, as it turned out to be. She didn't explain, either way, so we are free to interpret it. And sadly, because she immediately told Kayla that "He had a severe allergic reaction," leads us to think that she was, in fact, aware. BUT, it could be that she was simply well aware of what to look for, and, though shocked at the truth of the matter, was prepared and acted quickly, with her Epi-pen, and saved him. Still, she showed no remorse at putting Ryan through that. I WISH she had said, out loud, "Ryan, you're a gourmand. Please taste this, and tell me what ingredients you notice." Followed by, "OMG! PLEASE tell me you're not allergic to peanuts, TOO!" It's too morally gray. Especially because she never tells Evelyn, "It's not for ME to forgive Kayla or keep it in the family. Her VICTIM is NOT a member of the family." As far as Anna was concerned it was still HER attack and HER victimhood, and HER courage "getting through this," while RYAN was the one actually suffering (and nearly dying) in the hospital. "It was touch and go for a while."

Wait a minute. It JUST NOW ocurred to me. Mark threw a birthday party for himself and THAT is where he made the announcement about him and Anna expecting a child. And THAT is where Kayla provided her peanut-poison dessert, "Made especially for Anna." And THAT is where she took the peanut oil out of her purse and applied it to ONE SERVING of the desert, right there in Anna's kitchen. AT HIS PARTY. So, she was CARRYING PEANUT OIL AROUND IN HER PURSE when she went to the birthday party, at her brother's house, for her brother's birthday, JUST IN CASE she decided she wanted to poison his wife! And lo! and behold! He announced that his wife was pregnant, and so NATURALLY, she HAD NO CHOICE but to go ahead with it, and poison her sister-in-law. SHE CAME PREPARED. Why in the world would she be carrying around a small bottle of peanut oil, if she was not ALREADY planning to poison her? But then, "Oh, I was so upset by the announcement!" The announcement that wasn't made until AFTER you arrived, with the peanut-poison ALREADY IN YOUR PURSE?! Face it. Kayle simply hates you, and wants you dead. Killing your baby was just a bonus, to her. And "shock" was not her motivation, either.

Refined peanut oil does not trigger anaphylaxis since it lacks the protein that triggers the allergic reaction. Umm Ryan? You say he didn’t have allergies, but had a random anaphylactic reaction? “Premeditated attempted poisoning”? That’s not an actual criminal charge, and wouldn’t apply since this involved a third party being the one injured.
