Awesome demo, thanks. I love my CX-5 but like you said it could use one more cargo gate light and puddle lights under the doors. Maybe door panel light or at least reflectors for safety when the door is opened. I noticed I can only see my fog lamps on the corners not straight ahead when I turn them on. When you turned out on the road and hit the gas it sounded great. Love the Mazda growl.

Love my CX-5 , there maybe other SUVs with more bells and whistles but the driving dynamics , design and interior quality of Mazda is unparalleled IMO. If you want a basic practical Suv to go from a to b then Honda , Toyota can't be beaten but if you want that little something more , that something different then Mazda is the way .

My note on the car is that the car's dye is very weak during severe dust hit the body must put protect to the body color, very easy to scratches, This is from experience in the arab gulf countries ksa and uae

I have a 2021 CX-5 GT w Premium package and I don’t think mine has a light in glove box. It’s irritating. Thanks for making this video Mike! I like those adaptive headlight. They work great

The glove box light is only in the Signature trim, unfortunately.

@@jakenuno9900 that’s so cheap of Mazda! I only have the GT w Premium Package. I’ve had some much less expensive vehicle with glove box lights. I took them for granted until I got this Mazda and thought the light was faulty. I realize that Mazda wants us to use the map lights. I installed LED’s throughout and they work well but still. I also wish the switches for the sunroof were backlit. And I wish the headlight and windshield wiper stalk were backlit as a well. And it doesn’t have reflectors on the inner door jam down low so that oncoming traffic can see an open door at night as they come up from behind. Small detail but I let Mazda know on a questionnaire.

@@2004cyrus I agree 100%. I own a GT as well and it really bugged me not being able to see my windshield wipers, headlights, sunroof, etc. at night. I was thinking about upgrading the interior lights to LED, are you satisfied with your mod? On my older Mazda I ended up adding my own custom floor lighting and glovebox lighting, I bet I can find a module that can plug in fairly easy and add the OEM Signature lighting as well. I currently own 3 Mazdas, so I definitely appreciate the advancements they have made over the years, but I also feel like I have a good perspective on what should be included in a higher end model such as a Grand Touring.

@@jakenuno9900 I only own my CX-5 currently but I’ve had a CX-7, that my parents handed down to me and that was a 2nd Mazda. I inherited their old Mazda 3 prior to that, after the CX-7 I got a Mazda 6, then a newer Mazda 6 and now my brand new CX-5. They’ve all been reliable and affordable and I love how the steering feels in Mazdas. I love the LED lighting I added, Mazda should have included it all along in this trim but that’s okay it has a lot of other good tech. But yea I’d really like those stalks to be backlit so I can change the lighting and wiper speeds without having to guess or turn on a map light to see at night where the stalk is positioned. I didn’t get the turbo or AWD. I don’t regret it necessarily but there are times I wonder if I messed up not getting turbo. I usually feel like the power is not plenty in city driving tho.

Mazda 2021 signature, why does my 2010 Mazda 3 GT have more interior ambient lighting? I added door puddle lights, complete led interior and exterior lights. Mazda ,I need more features to get another Mazda in 2021.

I have the Australian version CX-5 GT SP with a 4 cylinder 2.5 litre motor. I think there was only the Akera model above mine. It has terrible lighting in the trunk area(globe I think) and also the interior lighting only has bulbs. Can't understand why they would do this as it's a major let down in my opinion considering all the other great features and quality of the vehicle. Yours sounded great when you drove away and the 4 cylinder models sound horrible. Due to the price of fuel here the 8 cylinder car isn't a common thing any more. Don't get me wrong I am very happy with the car but a few annoying minor details spoil it for reasons I don't know. Will look in to getting after market LED lights in those areas mentioned. The Bose sound system is also awesome so I don't hear the engine anyway. 😁

At lot of people drive with their lights off on the cx5 because they used the headlights as a daytime running light but if you don’t have it on AUTO you’re completely black on the back. The headlight turns on as soon as you put it into gear but the back is dark. People who drive these they think the lights are on because it’s lit up at the front. Horrible design

@@84848AR you need to have them on the on position. Idk about the sport but our touring we just have the switch “on” all the time and they turn off when we park. It takes a minute and they turn off by them selfs.

Only problem with Mazda is the depreciation which is mainly due to the company selling so many as fleet vehicles to the car rental companies. Because of the buyback agreement manufacturers buyback older models from the car rental companies thereby allowing them to buy new models. Auto manufacturers then sell the older models to auto auction companies who flood the used car market which deprecates your resale value by thousands of dollars.

I can not believe that Mazda failed to have proper interior lighting. No puddle lights. Gee my old Toyota has more interior lights on the dash and in the storage areas and puddle lights . I was interesting in buying one, but not so sure, now.

I would really consider this very small issue to not be a dealbreaker for an otherwise amazing vehicle. A couple of lights should not be something to worry about, especially with a big, significant purchase, like a CX-5.

The CX-5 has a nicer interior, exterior, and better performance than the RAV-4. The RAV has slightly more cargo space 🥴 If cargo space is that much more important than your driving experience, get a minivan.

To add to what others have said, the Signature trim's interior lights are different from all other models. For all other models, the lights are a lot brighter and as I believe, are not focused LEDs. I own a GT and the interior lights are extremely bright and wash across a large area. This signature trim with LEDs seem very focused to specific areas, probably to avoid blinding/distracting while driving.
