Pine Grove, PA (mi. 1194.7) to Eagle’s Nest Shelter(mi. 1211.3) I was so glad to get in the tent and lay down tonight. I’m not super tired, It was just a long drawn out day. I didn’t even have much up-and-downs for elevation, but my brain was up and down all day. A coke left beside a dirt road, and a short chat with one of my daughters helped get me through the last two hours of the day, thankfully. I have 9 miles exactly into Port Clinton, PA tomorrow so I should get there early, and I’m planning to make the most of every hour there, including a nap in the afternoon for sure. The resupply that the McHugh family provided for me in Carlisle, PA was almost perfect, all I’ll be walking into town with tomorrow morning is one freeze dried meal in my food bag, at least it will be light ha ha! 🤣
This is the most people I’ve tented around in the past couple of weeks, I’ve heard that there are about 200 or so through hikers in the 70 miles behind me. At this point in my hike, I think it is probably better to let them go by me rather than try to stay ahead of them.
It’s time for bed, I want to get an early start in the morning to hit the post office before lunch for sure.
Todays menu: Package of Eggo maple pop tarts, 2 snickers, bag of Fritos, small can of tuna, donut, sprite, 4 clementines, a banana, 2 packages of peanut butter crackers, 5 small pancakes, 2 protein granola bars, small bag of skittles, small bag of gummy worms, bottle of coke, can of Mt. Dew, sausage and gravy with biscuits freeze dried meal, and water with Mio additive.

Been in Maine, so just catching up on the journey. This is a great video for all thinking about doing this hike. Some days are just about getting through (thru). But a bad day on the trail is still better than most days in the “real” world.
