Snickers Gap (mi. 1006.5) to Stoneybrook Farm Hiker Hostel (1020.1) It was a great first day back on the trail, but also a very hot day. I didn’t get started until late in the morning so I was shooting for 15 miles, and ended up only doing about 13 1/2. I made my way to a convenience store about half a mile down the road from a trailhead, I had a good dinner there. There were two other hikers there as well. One of the hikers, Yukon Cornelius, said there was a hostile close and that he might call them and see if they could come get us on short notice. Thank goodness they did because I was done hiking after the heat of today. It’s a very nice hostel and I have my own cabin tonight, and also got to take a shower. I did get a chance to catch up with a couple of good friends today on the phone while I hiked which was very nice. I’m about 6 miles from Harper’s Ferry and excited to check that out tomorrow.
Todays menu: Scrambled eggs, bagel with cream cheese, banana, glass of ginger ale, 3 protein bars, a honey stinger waffle, a bottle of ginger ale, bottle of chocolate milk, fried chicken breast & wing, box of Swedish fish, 2 oranges, an Izze juice, and water with Gatorade mix.
