Stealth tent site (mi. 1237.5) to Stealth tent site (mi. 1255.2) Earned every one of the miles we hiked today! Not a lot of elevation, but the rocks kicked into gear. For anyone who knows Baxter State Park, picture going down at the top of Abol or going down Hamlin. It’s not technical but your pace and rhythm go out the window. Hiked a hard 9.6 miles this morning, with little to no water, to the Lookout Hostel. It’s a cool place with, not surprisingly, a great view. Me, Busted and Bait-A-Bear hung out there for about 2 hours and cured our thirst and hunger issues. After we left there I went into Sloggy mode and told them 👋
The hiking all afternoon again wasn’t difficult, just hard to make good time. I did hit a trail magic at about 5 pm, I wasn’t that hungry but I got a couple donuts and another Sprite down haha. I didn’t get to where they were camping til a bit after 7 pm. Luckily someone had left multiple gallons of water right near our stealth tent site, so I drank a half gallon then filled all my bottles up for tomorrow. We have about a 6 mile hike into Palmerton, PA tomorrow where we already know a guy is setting up a July 4th trail magic with everything you would expect. It starts at 11 so I plan to sleep in and hit it right at lunch time.
We’ll probably hang out there for a couple three hours then see how much further we can hike on July 4th bellies! 😂
Todays menu: Package of pop tarts, cliff bar, pint of strawberry sorbet, can of Fanta orange soda, large Snickers bar, 3 cans of Sprite, pint of mango sorbet, cliff energy bloks, 2 donuts, an apple, a brownie, small bag of trail mix, blueberries granola & almond freeze dried meal, Gatorade protein bar, can of Mt. dew, and water with Mio additive.
