Tumbling Run Shelters (mi. 1075.9) to Marked tent site (mi. 1091.4) 38 … that’s the number of cars that passed me hitchhiking before Julie stopped to pick me up. She said she doesn’t usually pick up hitchhikers, but I looked like I needed help. Thank you Julie, you saved me 3.4 miles of road walking in 93 degree heat.
That got me to a great convenience store with tables inside to sit at. I ordered up a bunch of food, and as a bonus they also had great WiFi, so I uploaded my videos to get up to date. I hung out there from 12:30 to 3:30 to get out of the heat of the day. I Instantly got a hitch right from the parking lot to get back to the trailhead (I think my trail name should be “Hitch” 😂) and did another 5-6 miles to cap off the day finishing at 7:00 pm. Big day tomorrow, going to hit the exact halfway point as well as the 1100 mile mark. I already have my 2 songs picked out for Instagram haha!
Todays menu: Licorice, a snickers, 3 chicken tenders, small French fry, four 28 oz. Gatorades, package of pop tarts, Kit Kat bar, small vanilla shake, ice cream sundae waffle cone, small donut, package of peanut butter crackers, small pack of Swedish fish, a large freeze dried meal, and tons of water with Gatorade mix.
