@@thejman3489 not really a fan of historical fiction/fantasy, but I'll check it out. I actually really enjoyed The Revenant. An action movie that had some of the best scenes ever was The Book of Eli. @@freestyledheartbreak-topic8146 Ben-Hur(1959) is a bit religious. It takes place during the time of the Roman Empire when Jesus walked the earth. The main character Judah Ben-Hur is actually not in the bible but he is a wealthy king who gets condemned as a slave to the Roman Empire. It also has a very interesting story how it was made. Warner Brothers was on the brink of bankruptcy. They got the best director of the time and gave him an unlimited amount of money for the film. They told him if the movie flopped then there would be no more Warner Brothers. It's hard to choose a favorite movie though. There are just too many good ones out there. My favorites are probably: 1. Ford vs Ferrari 2. Castaway 3. Inception

@@funninoriginal6054 let's be honest here. The only reason the star wars community doesn't get mad nowadays about the laughable defence on Endor is that it's part of the OT. @@apfelschorle1988 I saw Return of the Jedi in 1983, when I was 9 years old. I thought it was lame, a big let-down after the Empire Strikes Back. I mean, a second Death Star, that pretty much has the same weakness? Teddy bears? Han Solo goes from a swashbuckler to a softie? (and you can tell from Harrison Ford's acting that he didn't care anymore, that he didn't want to be there) Luke doesn't complete his Jedi training with Yoda, even though Yoda expressly told him in TESB that he had more training to do, that his training wasn't complete? Leia is Luke's sister, even though she sucked his face off in TESB? Darth Vader looks like Humpty Dumpty under his mask? That's why I don't understand why fans were so disappointed by the Phantom Menace. After ROTJ, I knew Lucas was losing it, although I still didn't expect Phantom Menace to be as bad as it was (Jar Jar Binks was just awful).

@@viscountrainbows6452 I always though about it as similar to kevlar vests, as soft ones will protect you from common small handgun calibers but may be ineffective against melee weapons, and useless against assault rifle calibers. @@VentSaviour For sure VHS *existed* in 1983, but it was hardly common. I got my first VCR in the very late 80's. They were main stream by then. I had a rich friend with a VCR. He used it to tape movies off HBO and watch them again and again. Video rental wasn't all that common at that point and I don't think I had a concept of "video rental" yet. We were watching On Golden Pond and The Dark Crystal -- movies from the early 80's. Home video certainly was not a thing in 1977, when I first saw Star Wars, and I know I saw Empire Strikes Back multiple times in the theater. I also collected the bubble gum cards so I could relive scenes from the movie. I can't tell you when I first watched Star Wars at home. It was easily 10 or 15 years after the first movie came out in theaters -- which is the time period I was talking about in my comment. According to Wookiepedia, ROTJ came out on VHS (and Betamax!) in 1986. By this time, I knew several people with VCRs and all sorts of mom and pop shops were getting into video rental - but in the early 80's, it was the sort of thing where you could get your Star Wars fix by going to a convention and watching Hardware Wars on a big screen.
