Is there a way to bypass the air function on the inserts? I’d like to use outboard without coloring it.

Yes, Air can be turned on/off for the 8 microphone/line inputs using Focusrite Control. The Air light will not be illuminated for inputs that don't have it enabled, and air does not effect ADAT inputs, or S/PDIF inputs.
