Because of the disobedient act of eating, humanity has fallen out of communion with God. But through obedient eating (Holy Communion), mankind is able to reestablish that relationship with God.

Are the mysteries my brothers and sisters. The communication with God through divine liturgy, to become jesus, put jesus in centre of your heart and keep him there. Your spiritual father will bring you there. Γενοιθήτω το θέλημα σου Θεέ μου. Thank God we're Christians, thank God for the begin and ending.

I live in England. There are few Orthodox churches and most of them serve the liturgy in Greek, Russian, Romanian, Serbian as they were established for an immigrant population. I’m working towards Chrismation and it is my ardent desire to go regularly to Divine Liturgy yet I have never once been to one entirely in English. The Liturgy is a precious jewel which is seemingly “hidden” from my fellow countrymen by language they don’t understand. Currently I travel 75 miles round trip to a Russian Orthodox Church that has an English service twice a month which is still around 20% Russian! My local Greek church was around 50/50 English / Greek but the priest has moved and it has reverted to 95% Greek. That shuts me out! God have mercy on us.

@@OrthodoxEthos yes, trinitarian baptism in a Baptist church in 1973. My priest accepts that, though I know some don't.

Thank you Father’s for this Divine undertaking! It is absolutely so needed, especially in these precarious times of apostasy. What the Saint in your book has described regarding the Divine Liturgy and it’s importance is absolute truth. I will share a story with you from my own personal experience with my late spiritual father. In the mid 1990’s he had come to my city in Australia. He was a visiting Archimandriti from Greece who lectured at the Theological College and was given permission to perform the liturgy and conduct confessions. However, the Divine Liturgy is not served on a daily basis here in our parishes so he didn’t. Saint Porfyrios, who had been his spiritual father, appeared to him and scolded him by saying do not follow what these priests are doing. You go and perform the Divine Liturgy as it is your responsibility to God and the Saints of the day! Saint Porfyrios also performed the Liturgy daily and where? In Omonia Athens, the worst place for drugs, violence and prostitution! Glory be to God for all things! 🙏🏽☦️📿

So appreciated this conversation. I’m curious why the sentiment exists that it’s Catholics who esteem daily Liturgy and it’s “not really Orthodox.” Perhaps parishes could be challenged annually at some point to have daily liturgy for 40, or some other doable but challenging succession of days.

Why background music must be at a higher level than conversation.? If I set volume to be just right to hear conversation, once background music starts mortar from the ceiling starts falling down.

I totally agree with you ... why is background music so loud on many videos. I have PTSD & find it too distracting.
