Great review Tia. Watching this, I came away with a “meh” reaction as well compared to say Ragemore or Acrimony. Grab yourself a copy of Pocket Landship or (I know you hate this “L” word) Legacy of Yu if you want some games to try that you may not usually reach for.

I'm kind of like you in that i admire this game more than I like playing it. It is missing something for me but i can aee why people like it. Its left me wondering what similar games you were thinking of when you said there were similar games you preferred

When I think of this one, thematically games like Friday or Robinson Crusoe come to mind. Very different in scope and mechanics, but it feels similar with completing certain types of objectives on a different scale. There are some other games of a similar scope like Doom Machine, Dustrunner, or other ButtonShy titles that have different themes but feel similar with managing a few resources to compete certain objectives. The preference is mostly just subjective since I can't think of another game that would be an exact replacement. ^^

@@tabletoptokki Thanks for that! Yes that makes sense. I do own Friday and haven't looked at it in ages. Must pull it out again! I honestly can't remember if you mentioned it in your videos, but I know you will cover ButtonShy games again so I wanted to say, I think its always good to highlight the fact that they will become available as PNP when released and most of ButtonShy's back catalogue is available on PnPArcade. The reason I say this is that I am a huge BS fan but would never have the collection I have only for they have embraced PnP as well as they have. And they are such easy games to PnP. I just print single sided on card and sleeve. Its great that such a small family run company can reach me this way. I may have said this to you on another video btw so sorry if I'm repeating myself. I can't rave enough about ButtonShy's PnP availability!

@@tabletoptokki They're really good. The card quality, and gameplay are on par or better than bigger games, but they play in a shorter time, which is nice. So far: Naturopolis - really good game, lost by one point. At The Helm - interesting, love the theme and pictures, won by choosing the events carefully. I'll throw in a random one next time. Numbsters - lost, but I don't know all of the cards by heart, yet. Tides - simulated 2 players, a close game, tough choices to make. Fishing Lessons - lost on hard mode, I like the puzzle / challenge. The rest - look great, can't wait to play. These have so much game in 18 cards. And, I can carry any / all of them, anywhere I go. Really nice.

Spaceshipped - cool game, I like the economics of deciding between upgrading, repairing defenses, and investing for profit. Rove - man, this is a brain burner on normal mode, I still got within one movement of winning, really great puzzle.
