That route is beautiful. I have a request: Can you do an At the Railyard: The Island of Sodor? All the kids would love to see the entire island, the exact locations, Thomas and all of his friends who work on each railroad. Plus, you could explain about Wilbert Awdry's career where he wrote and published the Railway series. One more thing, add music from Thomas and Magic Railroad to make this video beautiful.

Hi Nick, Certainly glad to see you're back and making At the Railyard. I like many others I missed your critiques and think you're important to the future health of RR simming. Now, get to work - you're way behind. Glad you're back.

Cor, blimey. Been awhile since we saw anything from you, mate. Glad to see you back, though, and with another brilliant ATR review, no less. I've been dying to trying this route out for years, ever since I saw the first development screens on Facebook. You're quite right that Japanese content isn't well represented in train simulators, barring a few Japanese train sims that aren't available in the West and the works of Keimei, Hirochi, and a few others for Trainz. I'm also a huge anime fan, particularly the works of Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, The Wind Rises, etc.) and director Mamoru Hosoda (Summer Wars, Wolf Children, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time), so to see that sort of vision and culture represented in such a beautiful line, how could I not be excited by it? I must admit though, from what I've seen of it on KZbin, while it surely does look stunning, I've gotten the impression that sections of the line feel empty, dull, perhaps even monotonous. Obviously, not every inch can be, or needs to be a feast for the eyes, but it does occasionally seem to become noticeable. As you noted in this review, I've also been a bit perturbed by the lack of rolling stock; while the pair of railcars are both beautiful, I'd love to see this line with a bit more variety of trains. In particular, I'd love to see some examples of Japan's gorgeous steam locomotives represented in future, such as the JGR 9600 Class 2-8-0s. Perhaps Union Workshops could even build a new story around such an engine; maybe one worked the line ages ago, but was abandoned on a hidden siding in the 70's when JNR abolished steam, only to now be rediscovered and restored to operation. I can't tell you how excited I am to hear that Union Workshop are still working on expansions for this route. If this had been all we got, I would have been content, but disappointed. But to hear that there's more on the way is fantastic news!

It's really good, I ran the route end-to-end and never got bored, it's absolutely beautiful, it's not exactly the most challenging run(I never ran the throttle over run-six on the entire five hour trip) And for the amount of detail and unique objects in the route, I was quite surprised to see a pretty consistent 40-60 frames per second even when passing other consists in high-density areas. Plus with the way WP ran with its partners, it gives great opportunity for using Rio Grande or Southern Pacific equipment without breaking immersion. And with its setting right between the Steam era and Today you can get away with a GEVO just as easily as a GS-4. I just hope the future addon packs(knowing DTG/RSC they *will* release a minimum of two addon packs) Do a decent job of expanding the roster, because with only two types of locomotives(that WP only ever operated thirty of each by the way) it's going to get repetitive fast, assuming you don't have any other routes that is. If you really don't trust them(I don't) you can get it on Pirate Bay, you will have to do some work to crack your game, but it'll be worth it.

What kind of computer do you have that can run the game at full graphics like that? Im running TS2016 on Windows 7, and even with all of the detail settings on minimum, it is rare for me to get good frame rates. I am planning to get a new computer soon, and it looks like whatever you have may be what I need!

I'd seen this pop up on the TS2015 loading screen but that just gave me a "meh" feeling. I think you've sold this to me. My only worry is that a good chunk of the character I see in the review might be the music, which will obviously won't be in the route itself.
@trainknut8 жыл бұрын
+Reorte He tends to do that, It's especially bad when he plays epic Two Steps From Hell tracks, and you expect it to be an awesome feat, and then when you actually play it, it's just turning a throttle and watching your speed go up in awkward silence.

i just find it a little bit too arty. absolutely love anythig Studio Ghibli, and i instantly thought of it as a great inspiration, but ghibli and miyazaki always create so much detail, this just seems a bit bland and barren :/ as a side note, oh holy gosh this was a beautiful review
