A day of rest was just what we needed. The highlight of today’s 11.8 mile hike was finishing Georgia and crossing back into our home state of North Carolina, even though the first three miles in was an arduous climb.

I have been thinking about your Mom and Dad. I can picture them every step you both take. I can imagine your Dad cross stitching a map of the Appalachian Trail. Thinking of them makes me smile. They are with you. Good luck Griffin on your AP Calculus exam.

I took your advice today while on a day hike. I shortened my stride and took baby steps on the steep inclines. What a game changer! I am really enjoying your videos! Thank you for sharing your journey.

Thanks again for sharing your experiences! Sharing the pace and hiking strategy is so helpful. We have considered a 2 mile intentional break pace. And low mileage to start.

You showed the leaves with holes in them. What are you AT tag numbers?

Pretty sure those holes aren't from trekking poles. There are numerous pests and diseases that will cause holes like that. Those moments when you cross borders or high points can get emotional!
