Sir..... That was awesome...! You lost me at the very beginning since I'm a new user ATAK-CIV... since it was not around in the late 60's. Where can new users go for Training.... I've played around with it but have no idea what I'm doing, just feeling around w/it and to know more about the different functions, etc..... Would appreciate any & all info..? Thanks in advance..! =)

There is a ATAKWizard youtube page and you can pay for an online training with Toughstump tech.

Are there any public available TAK server/certs I can join to test out ATAK? This video demo starts out with having pre-downloaded TAK server certs already into your Google Drive.

Is a certificate necessary to connect to a server?

It all depends on how the admin wants you to connect. You could connect be cert enrollment where you have a profile already in the tak server with a username and pw combo. From ATAK you enter the web address of the tak server and then your name and pw and the tak server will authenticate you. You can authenticate with another directory like an active directory for your city/business. So there are multiple options.

Not really a onboarding video. No one magically has a google drive with all the certs and maps and files. An onboarding video would show how to get on servers and how to create maps. What do the zip files contain? This is mid leven experience, not an onboarding video.

@hwy929 that google drive maps.takserver.us is open for you to get maps from. Just down load and import the maps from there. When you say “create maps” what are you looking for? This video shows you how to set up atak and get maps to use. If you need to set up a tak server i have a video on that. Let me know if i can help you.
