I just completed the microswitch replacement on a friend's 2600 after watching your video, thank you for your help. I found some microswitches at Jaycar, they had different height buttons available and the smallest buttons fit perfectly under the original buttons. I used the original padding, it was not hard like yours, it just peeled off and stuck it back. Works like a new one.

Always assumed the 2600 Jr switches were like sliding switches so it's interesting to discover they're just push switches. Defo try and reprint those so they fit a little tighter. I'm glad the tac switch mod works but I defo think you can make the overall effect look a little less flimsy

You could get some longer switches and drill a small hole in the underside of the button housing and glue the switches on the underside. This will remove the height problem. Worked for me.

You can just sand the button on the microswitch down. No need to 3D print, drill holes, any of that malarky. Flip them upside down. press down, back and forth for 10 seconds on some fine sandpaper and they fit perfectly.

I know this an 'old' video now but bugger off that electric paint garbage and use silver conductive paint for future reference. I got some recently from ebay that came in a syringe and successfully repaired(re-drew) completely corroded 'A' & 'B' button traces for a Gameboy Color. A little goes a long way and I squeezed a drop out and then moved it around with the pointy pen-like end of a plastic spudger. Leave it over night and should be right.

That sounds good, the electrical paint went straight into the bin. What brand did you buy?

@@retrogameon The brand is XeredEx which came with a beautiful Chinese only manual. The brand wasn't mentioned in the listing though. It was just the cheapest on ebay that was "posted from Australia" (kinda doubt it still) and the seller name was 'twisegroup'. Hope this helps one day. All the best and keep up the good work mate.

I have one of these. Got it from a local retailer in the early 90's.

By local do you mean in Australia? How much was it, if you remember?

Yes Australia. I think I bought it at a big W store, can't remember the price, probably around the $150 mark.
