First time I saw this game it was packaged as a bundle with Donkey Kong and the Coleco Gemini system (Atari clone).

This game was included in an atari 2600 clone with 160 games built in, it was a cheap and fun way to know this cool game

PRO TIP 1: Never use up your last bone before clearing a maze, or you'll have to begin the next maze with no bones at all. PRO TIP 2: Since the maximum number of bones onscreen is four, then try to get at least that many per maze, and to get at least two cats when using one.

The origin of Mappy, but its Dog vs. Cats. The original arcade was graphic so 'ZX Spectrum', however there's the monkey's barking

A word of warning to those playing this game on an OLED panel. The flickering doors cause some pretty scary image retention. I played for less than 5 minutes and my desktop was a flashing mess. It did go away after running some anti burn in videos on KZbin. I worry that a long play session could do permanent damage.
@RustyLeguito3 жыл бұрын
That is one of the biggest dangers on OLED screens, dead pixels

This is the 2600 version. The original was an upright cabinet arcade. It would look the "best." Coleco bought of a bunch of arcade licenses and made the ports to the big three. Some of criticised them for making "worse" ports for Intellivision and 2600, but honestly they consoles were really just slightly edged out by Colecovision hardware. In theory InTV had better sound, a 16-diection pad, sprite scaling, and more colors, but much lower resolution. Maybe they could have made a more competent InTV port, but 2600 was so freaking old, this was basically all you could hope to do with it. lol

@@GiuseppeGaetanoSabatelli bullshit. They intentionally sabotaged the games, and people have proven that multiple times over with their own homebrew atari 2600 ports.

I remember when I was really really young (4 or 5) and my brother had an Atari and I thought it was the greatest ever! On sick days in primary I would play this game. Then he got rid of his Atari and years later I got a Nintendo and a Super Nintendo. Always wished I could play the old Atari again though and one day my mom brought one home from a yardsale so I unhooked my Super Nintendo and hooked up the old Atari. No more than 5 minutes later, I uttered the phrase,” this fucking sucks” and I threw it in the trash 😳
