God, that Stay Puft sequence in the end... the worst feeling in the world was to play your ass off for the whole game just to get stomped flat by the big guy at the end. Getting under him was a lot harder than it looks, and if you screwed up, all that work you put in was pissed away in just a few seconds flat. "Kthxbye, NEXT?"

It's actually a kind of better game on the 2600 when you consider the Marshmallow Man is at near proportional height. Wish that they had fighting Zool at the end.

@JohnCrawford1979 Жыл бұрын
@swampdonkey491 - When I played it as a kid, I didn't know there were different versions, other than the NES. Didn't have a computer until 1996, and by then I was more interested in making music than playing games. But when I was playing Ghostbusters on the 2600 as a kid, I was focused on the fact I was able to play as a Ghostbuster busting ghosts. In a sense, it's similar to Elder Scrolls, where the fun for many people isn't in beating the game, but on playing the role.

@Studeb5 жыл бұрын
WTF was that ending?
@melaniel.42695 жыл бұрын
Simply the extreme limitations of the Atari 2600 prevented them from doing the ending like it was in the C64 version, where you have to dodge the Marhsmallow Man to get into Spook Central and then it shows the Ghostbusters at the Top of the building crossing the Streams to defeat Gozer. The ending is the best proof, that David Crane simply ran out of time (he only had 6 weeks to create the full game, even back then developing a game took around 3-4 months) The overally vastly improved Master System version fixes that with the staircase walk (and unlike the shitty NES version you can shoot the ghosts) followed by a battle with Gozer and its terror dogs.

@internalwarrior24105 ай бұрын
Letting you know the the "end" with the two ghost busters crossing streams is not the real end of the game, it's a bug in the game that prevents the next stage where you fight the marshmallow man on top of the skyscraper. This was confirmed by the games creator There are some home brew fixes which correct this bug

I bought everything and couldn't get to the "real start" of ghost hunting from what I saw on Angry Video Nerd... it says it's because of the difficulty buttons, that's it... I'm playing an Atari game on the PS2, I have no idea where the difficulty is because I pressed all the buttons and the All that happens is restarting and that's it! In other words... I'm stuck in this item shop!
