ATARI 520STe Restoration Pt1

Part One of a Restoration Project on an ATARI 520STE computer.
This old 1980s computer was bought from ebay in an "unknown" condition. In these videos, I'll be restoring it back to fully operational condition.
In this episode, checking it out, dismantling and making sure it won't go bang when I switch it on.

Caps on the power supply need changing even if they test good.

Is that because everyone says that’s what you should do ? As an electronics engineer with over 50 years experience, I choose not to jump on the “Change them all” bandwagon without testing and proof of potential failure. I didn’t test the caps in this PSU as they looked OK and the supply rails were OK with no ripple. The computer has been working perfectly every day since I carried out this repair, so I’ll wait till they fail… OR NOT.
