Here in northern Italy literally every single arcade place had at least one of these. It was in a different cabinet though, something covered in a silver plastic. It was so popular because the scooter featured in the game depicts the Dragster, a widely known model from the Italian "Italjet Moto" factory. The Dragster (and other Italjet models like the "Formula" had a forkless front suspension, very unusual for motorcycles. So imagine being the 17yo me, riding with my Italjet Dragster to the local arcade, to play a game where you ride an Itajet Dragster. I'M A RADIKAL BIKER!!!

I was hoping that you would talk about the crazy story of how their were too many mk4 cabinets. So atari just took those cabinets put radikal bikers art over the mk4 art from the factory. From what I understand is that these were once Mortal Kombat 4 cabinets.... but sold so terribly, they ended up selling them to Atari. Atari then sold them to Gaelco. They used the Mortal Kombat guts and plugged in their own PCB and Bike Control....and basically made Radical Bikers. At least that’s what I heard in Jon’s Arcade

I remember seeing that game before. I think it had some aspects of other racing games of the time too. Like you could get bonus outfits or tracks if you knew how to tap the codes in before starting the game, and there were things like the power or boost start if you timed the stage countdown just right. Tricky game though, even though the song was catchy. The camera mic doesn't quite do it justice. Also to really get anywhere in the game you had to get most of the power-ups, so you had to learn the tracks a bit.

VGA cable would have worked if all 15 pins had wires...however on a standard VGA pin 9 is a key and may not have a wire connected. Plus pins 12 and 13 are sync and could be tied together if its a cheap cable. If you made your own vga cable where all 15 pins went to the corresponding pins on the other end it would work fine.
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 4 жыл бұрын
I believe you're right, in the manual it says to get the cables from them because only high quality cables work. I think the pin 12 and 13 thing may have been it...

Why is a missing cable always a show stopper for people? Use a multi-meter for continuity to see which pin is which on each end. Get some DB-15 ends and make a cable.

We're just not as smart as you haywoodyoudome. Hey haywood, did you notice you watched a 30 minute long video and your only comment was to bitch about something you feel you could do better? Think about how you're living your life, I really don't care because i'll never see you again but you probably do this crap to the people you know, and it probably causes you issues you're not quite smart enough to notice. Just a thought. I'll get right on that cable though buddy.

Just started watching through your videos and I love them. About the link cable. Wouldn't you be able to just measure the pins on each connector with the continuity tester with the fluke? That should tell you which pin goes where.
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 4 жыл бұрын
I did that, and they were all connected straight through... so I figured it was just a normal connector (VGA cable)... but when I plugged one of those in, it didn't work... so a guy online was telling me (comment may be below) that there are a couple pins on the cable on a monitor that do the same thing, so some manufacturers join those together and just run one line. Makes it slightly cheaper to make... and on a continuity test it still tests connected, but it's connected to two other pins too. So I think the answer to the whole thing is if you have a cable that is absolutely 15 seperate wires straight through, it works.... which is why the extension worked fine, they probably build them that way not knowing what you'll use them for :)
@getinge

Back then Midway(independent) bought only Atari as Atari games from Warner Bros. , While hasbro bought the Atari home division from it's technologies/Jack tramiel and family then later Midway went bankrupt , Midway and Atari games both got bought by Warner Bros. Ended the Atari games marketing license and others(Bally/Williams) too renamed Midway as Warner Bros. games or Midway games(confused ?) So am I later infogrames(Bruno bonell) bought the Atari home marketing name & rights from hasbro renamed infogrames as "Atari" later things gotten bad he'd quit the company changed hands many times became bankrupt (again) later bought my Frederic chenais of France kept the company as Atari for now . basically Midway now is either Warner Bros. Games or Midway games depends on product(it's kinda goofy),Atari games arcade division is not in business from midway's bankruptcy/Warner Bros. Buyout while other Atari home games division might or might not be owned by Fred chenais guy(I don't know really) be anyway just giving you the heads up on the business oh btw gaelco is pronounced as(gay-el-co)
