@@AtariCrypt Just brings me back to the days of getting PD through the door from Tower PD, Floppyshopy, New Age and many more. I also use to get many Demos from all over the world, I did have all Persistence Of Vision discs. Was very avid Atari ST and Amiga collector od demos, intros and cracktros back in the day. The first one I ever watched was The Lost Boys - Oh Wot a Scorcher. Miss those days so, so much.

@@The_dodger00 I know what you mean. Different times and something that doesn't exist anymore... But, at least we got to experience it. That's the main thing. And we can keep the flame burning as we still have access to Floppyshop and of course all the demos and games and cracktros/etc. Hey, plus new stuff too - check out my website which I've just updated ;-) Pretty cool, right?

I'll admit, most of my exposure to 16-bit micros have been to the other one beginning in A (and no, not the Acorn Archimedes). And yes, while I know that the YM2149 is probably more of an 8-bit era sound chip, I really, really should have considered that out there somewhere was some tech wizard who knew how to push this chip beyond what it was thought to be capable of. I do hope to get an Atari ST some day so I too can explore this machine that keeps impressing me. Great job,

I've had this very song on my mind (the first song in the video) for about a week now. I couldn't remember where i'd heard it or anything, then this pops up in my reccomendations and answers all of that! Talk about a co-incidence!

The SID voice in the first track is really good - I wonder how it was done?

The effect is so popular on ST that I always thought it was a YM chip feature. In reality there's a bit more trickery involved: www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=15601

It's weird (to me?) as the ST / chiptunes still sound beautiful today. Yet that other computer with it's fancy schmancy audio back then often sounds 'aged' .. The ST will live forever! ;^)

I feel exactly the same. Although there is no doubt that the ST sound chip was inferior back then, what with it being a glorified ZX Spectrum sound chip, nowadays the bleepy chips live on (POKEY, YM, AY, SID) in modern music, but the Amiga not so much.

@@AtariCrypt - A good example of this is the "No Second Prize" comparison. The ST version still sounds fresh, whilst the Amiga version with it's 'real' instruments sounds of it's time. My comment is a few years late, but what the heck.
