Very informative. Full of vigor. Full of enthusiasm. Undiminished fervor. The video 'educates' us. It becomes amply clear from Peter Masella's extraordinarily brilliant narration and uncanny observations how subtle the Landing and takeoff procedures actually are. Passengers ensconced in their cozy seats would hardly get to know, understand, and decipher the procedures if it were not for Peter's exquisite narration and apt description. Peter, I hope all the air-travelers subscribed to your superb channel...Please keep up the Good Work and keep on elucidating to us the intricacies of air-travel! Folks, ignorance is NOT bliss, Peter's visuals and commentary IS BLISS !!! God Bless !!!

I'm an Amtrak enthusiast, it's good to see the same trip out of ATL that the Crescent takes. Hartsfield-Jackson is just a bit busier than Peachtree station (2,700 Vs. 2 arrivals and departures per day). ATL to Pennsylvania Station in Manhattan departs ATL at 11:30 pm and is about an 18hr and 40m trip pluss delays (1~3 hrs). Im helping implement Amtrak's 2040 plan to build ATL into a passenger rail hub. Starting with a new station in "The Gulch" co-located with the MARTA's subway hub. Then adding about 5 new lines while keeping the Cresent. ATL - Savhana (3 round trips a day), ATL - Chattanooga - Nashville (2 round trips a day), ATL - Birmingham (1 round trip a day), ATL - Charlotte (3 round trips a day), ATL - Montgomery (3 round trips a day). It's an ambitious plan and depends on state support from GA, AL, TN, and SC. It's aimed at computers and replacing short-haul flights for climate reasons. Hopefully, the new Hydrogen jet engines or fuel cells will help out too for long-haul flights.

Thoroughly enjoyed this video. The first thing I do getting on a plane is clean my window! I hust kove ATL, it is a fascinating place. And the view over CLT was beautiful. From the air, it doesn't look that big. But last year, our outbound flight through CLT was late. We had about 10 min between connecting, which involved going from one concourse to the other. The place is huge! Looking at it from the air in your video, I can visually trace my steps (or run). You had a beautiful day to fly. Glad you had a nice vacation too!

Brilliant as always. Thanks for the nod to my home state. You probably flew over my house. I work at the FedEx hub at GSO and love being near the planes and watching them take off and land. While I missed Manhattan, still great views overall. Thank you again and God bless you.

Thanks for another great video. Wow, the Atlanta airport is so HUGE! If I make it there in April as planned, I hope I don't get lost! 🤣 Question: what did you use to clean your window (type of wipe...)? I've tried to clean windows, sometimes without much effect... Thx!

How do you sync the ATC audio with the video footage, or is it just an approximation?
@PeterMasella Жыл бұрын
I listen to the commands by ATC and sync them up with the action taken based on ATC prompts. I’d say the accuracy level is within seconds.

So Peter, are you an air traffic controller yourself, or how, by nature of your training, are you able to give us such a detailed narrative? I'm a little confused. Thanks!
@PeterMasella Жыл бұрын
Paul, I'm flattered! I'm not an air traffic controller. I do have a degree in airport management, however, my experience derives from countless hours as a youngster listening to ATC on a handheld radio scanner (pre-internet days).
