Come along with me for an in depth look at a departure procedure from LaGuardia Airport over New York City's northernmost borough - the Bronx. A comprehensive look is taken regarding the complex runway configuration environment before the pilot points the nose of the CRJ-900 north.

I lived in the Bronx as a youth. I lived in the projects on the 18th flr facing due east. So I had a wonderful view of the airplanes which I now know as the Bronx climb flew directly over my building. I would sit for hrs watching them. I love ur show.

I'm listening to LGA ATC as my inbound flight is delayed due to weather in NYC..they just started clearing planes for takeoff again and instructed them to use the "Bronx climb". I had to look that up...and found this great video! Thank you!

Love your videos! Flying tomorrow morning for the first time in 23 years and your videos help a lot! I do some planespotting from Planeview Park and plan on taking pictures of the park on my flight home, so long as the wind is right

Hi, Peter. I LOVE your commentary videos! I LOVE the detailed information that you describe regarding the approaches, runways, landmarks, geography, etc.! I also like to sit by the window! I just wish that all planes would have screens that show the cities that you're flying over, in addition to the altitude.

Great stuff, as usual. You always manage to infuse your videos with some new info or a new vantage point. Really enjoyed getting the bird's eye view of Newark/Liberty airport. It's really quite the huge airport, especially when compared to LGA. Thanks again Peter.

4:12 how did you do from a very dirty window to a perfectly clean one? 🙃
@PeterMasella
@PeterMasella Жыл бұрын
The window was dirty the whole time. It's just a matter of the camera focusing on the dirt or the view outside. It depends on the sun angle.

Fascinating! I lived in the Bronx from 1956 - 1973, a long time ago. I used to watch/listen to the Eastern Air Lines Lockheed Electras fly over our apartment house. I still live in the metro area, but on the other side of the Hudson, so Newark is my most convenient airport (other than Stewart, which has very limited passenger service).

The windows were dirty on the outside and I was unable to clean that part. This video was filmed in the winter, not in April.

@@PeterMasella There are many times the video is clear; how did the dirt come and go? Since the video was just posted I thought it was recorded recently.
@PeterMasella
@PeterMasella Жыл бұрын
@@Capecodham The dirt did not come and go. The dirt was always there and sometimes the camera lens focused on it while other times it did not. When the camera did not focus on the dirt, it appeared as if the window was clean.

Great video!! I grew up in the Bronx and lived right in the path of the Bronx climb. You can see my building (Grey) @14:21 and my apartment was facing West. What made this more interesting is I now live in Jacksonville not too far from JIA. I still travel back and forth to NY for family and other functions quite often. Hopefully we will cross paths one day and I can get to meet you in person.

Why can't they just leave that head terminal and gate concourse that was built in the early 90s alone? They should keep that up. Why waste money? To me, I liked that terminal and there was some space. I think it looks good with the new head terminal connected,
