Is it possible for your simulation software to have another human rpo, with built in executable commands?

Fun fact: the tracon is located in Sacramento. The reason is in case of a large earthquake in the Bay Area, they can still talk to the airplanes.

That's not the sole reason at all. It's also because cost of living is cheaper and they got the land for free from Mather.

Worked at Bay TRACON from 88 to 200?. Moved to Sacramento (NCT) (around 2000/2001). Worked there until retirement in 2009. Really had a great time at BAY!

I fly out of KSQL and absolutely have so much fun flying in the bay area. Got current again after a long lapse because of how much fun the airspace is, all the places all of california has to offer to explore, but the norcal controllers are just the best... it's fun getting to know the personalities of the voices over the years, a bunch of them are a hoot, and even getting to know small differences in how individual controllers handle their traffic and chat.

A good addition to this video would be to include/show eastbound traffic handling into SFO. I am directly below a path for the Woodside VOR, in a coastal, rural area south of HAF (an uncontrolled coastal airfield; RWY 30) before flights cross over me toward Silicon Valley inbound to SFO. Flights headed eastbound coming from Hawaii, China, Japan, etc. cross the coast and come over here at 6000 feet, consistently. So do flights from points in Europe or Canada as they head southbound while offshore, descending, and turn left for approach eventually to 28 L/R. Flights heading northbound from LAX, SAN, MEX and others make a right turn over our area inbound to SFO, also at 6000', for 28 L/R.
@VASAviation5 жыл бұрын
All traffic is included here.
@ZenZaBill5 жыл бұрын
@@VASAviation Yes, I see that. All traffic *at that time* -- which did not show any incoming flight tracks over the Pacific headed east. These are more interesting to watch what with occasional turns to lineup and join the 27/28 final approach conga line...
@SpicyFaceActual5 жыл бұрын
ZenZaBill If they’re inbound from the ocean, they’re supposed to cross woodside at 8,000. 👍
@ZenZaBill5 жыл бұрын
@@SpicyFaceActual 8000 eh? Maybe that applies to the actual town of Woodside, specifically? (Where a large part of the Silicon Valley millionaires live, btw.) I'm about 11 miles due West of Woodside, and Flightradar24 always reports overhead traffic at 6000' +/- about 100'.
@SpicyFaceActual5 жыл бұрын
ZenZaBill hmm. I’m not sure where the woodside VOR is in reference to the actual town of woodside. The VOR is the circle on the map about 15 SE of the airport. Oceanic arrivals are (almost always) instructed to cross the VOR at 8,000 then dropped to 4,000 for the turn in. Traffic from the north is dropped to 6,000 when they’re overhead the airport.

I've noticed that when there's bad weather coming off the Pacific Ocean, the pattern at SFO switches to taking off from 10 L/R and landing on 19 L/R. Can't find this in writing anywhere though.
It’s called South East plan. When the winds dictate it the tower has to switch. Nobody likes it.

RHV is my home airport, very busy GA corridor right next to approach path for SJC. I assume you get to pick and choose which targets show up in the simulator, as I didn't see any GA traffic in this segment. Still, it's great to finally see Norcal in this series. I'd love to be able to run this myself.
@VASAviation5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jonathan. This program was developed to display the airplanes we want to by importing their track data manually into the software. I tried to import as many traffic as I could but some GA aircraft don't have ADSB or are outside ADSB coverage so that I can't have access to those flights therefore can't display them here. This video here must be showing like 90% of the real traffic approximately.

In this video the Woodside sector is actually combined with the Foster sector
@VASAviation5 жыл бұрын
Correct
@SpicyFaceActual5 жыл бұрын
Jimmy Chen No they are split. One controller is working woodside sector, and the other controller is working the foster sector. That’s why there’s two controller voices. Unfortunately live ATC also has a hard time recording both, so some audio will be missing as it tends to pick up one controller at a time, and both controllers talk at the same time frequently on these positions. They’re sitting right next to each other. So sometimes you can hear the other controller talking in the background.
