Well done James. It's intimidating for native English speakers! You were clear and concise with your requests and replied immediately to her incoming transmissions. If you do that New York will work you every time. If you are slow to answer or do any umm, umm, umming, you will be dismissed. Just one correction though... It's the Garden State Parkway (NJ) not the Golden State Parkway. That one would be in California I would guess.

True, but most pilots who fly into a busy approach control airspace know what to listen for. As soon as they check in they know the controller is going to give them certain information. They know the controller is busy, so they’re all listening carefully to avoid disrupting the flow. This controller is definitely on point.
