I've had experience hand raising orphaned and abandoned kittens, and I read in a kitten care book that you should burp the kittens after every bottle feeding to avoid air bubbles in the kittens' tummies. You can either hold the kitten over your shoulder as you do this, the same way you do a human baby, or hold it in your lap, and gently tap on its back until you hear that cute little burp. Just thought I'd share this piece of important advice.

Is there a particular benefit in terms of positioning the kitten when you bottle feed? I've seen people who let them lay on their bellies and crane their neck up to the bottle as opposed to holding them back like you did. Is this worse, better, or no difference?

Lulu Never feed a kitten on its back, they are at risk for aspriating formula if you feed them this way. Watch how kittens nurse on their mother naturally; they are in a "belly down" position with the neck extended.

I definitely think you should feed a kitten on its belly and not in the air like this. The kitten in the video is probably fine like that but I could see some difficulties if you fed every kitten like this. Not a very secure hold or position. I recommend watching the Kitten Lady for a more thorough tutorial.

You should give them a kitten milk replacer like KMR shown in the video. Breeders edge also makes a powered milk you can reconstitute with water.

Really not a great idea as kittens have trouble regulating there body temperature. Try to avoid at all costs, however if the kitten is super dirty, try wiping with warm wet cotton balls or cotton pads, don’t submerge the kitten in water

If your kitten is too dirty to clean off with baby wipes you could give them a bath. What’s important is that you do this very fast so they don’t catch a chill and you have a heat source to put them on once you are done. You want to use a gentle soap and make sure you get it all off. One of the ways we let kittens know they are being cared for is that they are clean.

We have a mommy cats who doesn't let her babies drinks. She just left them around. The (chilld idk?) kitten drinks instead of the babies. 3 baby kittens the 2 are just around crying and the 1 is lost. Such a horrible mother. We don't have kitten bottles(I don't know what is it called lol) I tried feeding it with milk, but the baby kitten refuse.

Kittens do not need straight water until they are moving on from milk. You do use water if you are reconstituting powered KMR though. Some use Pedialyte but you have to be careful because of the glucose in it.

no she's doing it correctly. the kitten's head is in an upright position which prevents the kitten from asphyxiating. both her and the kitten lady demonstrate the correct way to bottle feed a kitten, neither of them are wrong. the wrong way to bottle feed a kitten is when they're on their back

I couldn't keep watching, I was terrified you were going to choke one.....seriously, you are not feeding them correctly, and I don't see how you haven't aspirated them.....or maybe they've died and you didn't know that's why they died. You shouldn't be trying to act like you can teach people how to bottle feed kittens.....what you're currently doing, if you're at all still doing this, is potentially killing kittens. Let's hope that you've learned better by now. This is incredibly dangerous....I just can not believe that you thought you could teach people how to bottle feed kittens!!
