With all due respect, Tourniquets save lives. Having 2 (or 4) limbs is pretty pointless if you're dead. In a hospital setting, we do use them for amputations (adult dewclaws, limbs, tails, etc..). They're also really way too conservative on times but I understand. (20 minutes max..) I guess I understand but in an emergency, especially with severe bleeding (pulsating/spurting/etc), would you rather have a living pet with 3 legs or a dead pet with 4 legs? On top of my experience working at a Veterinary Hospital, I have quite a bit more (human) medical/trauma training than most civilians and I think everyone should absolutely learn how to use a tourniquet and carry one in your car. A good tourniquet, for humans is a CAT or SWAT-T. Again, learn how to correctly use the tools you're carrying. Also, write the application time down and get to a hospital. I also have nasopharyngeal airways and appropriately sized cuffless endotracheal tubes (for Nasopharyngeal use). Regular ET tubes too. Again, if you know and understand how/when to use something like that.

THERE ISNT A VET OUT THERE THAT IS TAKING CLIENTS...I HAD A DOG ALMOST DIE RECENTLY AND NO ONE WOULD SEE HIM AND I WAS TOLD THERE IS ANM EXTREMEM CRISIS IN THE VET WORLD SO I CANT STAND WHEN PPL MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE IF YOU DONT HAVE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS YOU CANT Have a pet.
