Hello my RF Hub went out in my 2016 Dodge Journey, can it be replaced with a used RF module out of another vehicle the same year, make and model?

No crank no start replaced starter that decoded my sole key fob now my 08 chrysler town n country doesn't recognize my key. Replaced win module with used one but still not working so i purchased new matching keys for my minivan

I purchased the van with one key fob but the anti theft system keeps me from starting the minivan but my family member is getting close to cranking with a new set of keys from Amazon that will arrive today. I brought a win node from the junkyard caravan so I'm hoping that does the trick.

@sixfoot919 you cannot use a used win. It needs to be new and program with the correct vin.

Just whent through that. Sent car to dealer to replace hub due to lost keys. Great dealer option to bring in income and screw the car owners. So go ahead and lock your hub but if you do make sure you add as many keys as possible or you may be stranded in the middle of nowhere and locksmiths can't help you and you will be out of a car for weeks at the dealer.

You should be able to Not get the replacement rfhub LOCKED. There are other ways to protect vehicle.

Agree, that is mostly an extra income for dealerships. Aftermarket alarm is a lot better than a locked hub.

Hey I just bought a 2012 Chrysler 300 5.7 about two months ago the car wasn’t starting and whenever you would try and start it it would say “press clutch and brake pedal to start” anyways after a month of working on it we figured out it was the RF hub having a bad connection so I ziptied it to have connection and she turned right on so today I decided to go to a junkyard and cut the pigtail and rewire it and now it’s not starting again is there any reason why that would happen? I made sure to rewire it correctly and the pigtail is definitely the same but for some reason she doesn’t wanna turn on now

@@AutoTechElectronic funny two weeks ago the battery died on the car before the battery died the key fob would unlock the car but after I replaced the battery after having it sit for three days and the key fob doesn’t unlock or lock the car anymore but it still turned the car on but after trying to fix it by cutting it and putting the new pigtail the car doesn’t turn on or unlock. Do you think I should get the key programmed again?

@user-ez6fi6yx7y key does not get unprogrammed. I goes defective/dead. You should try getting a new one made.

@@AutoTechElectronic five minutes before I cut the pigtail on the RF hub to replace it I could turn the car on with the key and after my attempt to splice the new pigtail in now the car doesn’t start I’ll try getting a new key made

It xan still be stolen. So, why incurr that additional expense. Plus you are not adding all the extra cost dealership adds to the job on replacing an rfhub.

I just had my hellcat stolen. The RF hub lock saved my car from being started. I found the car a mile away. Go get the RF hub lock security update NOW. I completely disagree with this entire video. Go get it now, disregard this whole video. Teh thieves had tore apart all the modules under the steering wheel and couldnt get it started. I RECOVERED MY CAR. PROOF IN THE PUDDING.

Call right now any dealership and the Rfhub is in National back order. Get a Clifford or Viper alarm installed from a reputable shop and the vehicle won't even be moved.

Funny is when you loose all your keys and call a locksmit and 400 dollars later he tells you you need a new rfhub because your hub is locked by eol and now you pay another +1000 plus to tow to dealer or mechanic to replace the hub and then having to add the keys to the new hub. That's a great option for car dealers and to profit.
