The one who’s harmonizing with Hongjoong in Desire is San. You can find his fancams that he was singing along with him during their tour last year. Not only for Desire but in the other songs too, San is the one who sings along with the members most of time. Youll keep hearing him singing along with Jongho or the other members. His voice is so good & suits with the other members so well. He’s great at head voice work so he’s harmonizing with them or doing back vocal a lot of times. A vocal coach said that he’s getting through all of his range so easily. His falsetto& head voice work are crazy. I couldn’t agree more.... members also said San is the one who has the most vocal ranges and when it comes vocals San is next to Jongho. Were so proud of our lead vocalist! San really can be one of Epic vocalists of kpop with more work and he keeos getting vocal lessons even though hes this great! He’s also good at sound affects like Hala Hala, Drrraaa (?) Hes the one who sings lol I think you were also curious about the last part of Pirate King? The one who sings “We can go” part is San and the one who’s harmonizing with him Jongho! 😊 San’s harmonizing with Hongjoong & his falsetto in “I want it” are my fav parts in Desire haha I really love HJ x San parts. He sounds so good with HJ but again he sounds so good with everyone so I can’t choose haha Also the VLive concert was live😊 28:08: The high note in the part that Wooyoung & San sing together was San. He also continues to do high note after while Yunho sings! You saw while watching the perform tho I really love his high notes or falsettos like he sounds so good but what amazing me is he’s really good at singing live these parts bc you know doing this kind of parts perfectly is really hard if you sing live. I really respect how good lead vocalist he is! Actually hes on a main vocal level when it comes vocal technics. 😊 About Light, I really like the song and My fav part is Mingi’s part! Also hope youll react to their cover Yesterday from Block B! When you hear San in there, youll thank god for he was not a rapper bc OMG we wouldnt survive haha

No spoilers but I’ve been a huge fan of San’s voice since literally like the 2nd song I’ve heard from ATEEZ, so yeah I was guessing all of those adlibs and notes were from him but I wanted to ask you guys just in case I was wrong 😳 and yeah I totally agree with everything that you said, and as I said in the video he’s very stable and has a huge range, and he sounds so effortless and strong on each note, even though his voice is very soft. So as I’ve been saying, I’m always very impressed with him.

You’ll see when you watch! 👀 Yes you were right 😏 i watched all of your videos and I remember that his voice is your fav so I know how you love his voice! Same here, his voice is one of my favs in kpop. San uses his voice very differently and even Atinys can’t understand that he’s the one who sings in many songs. Like this man can sound like an anime girl or suddenly can have a very deep voice or a rock star voice 😂 he got me so shocked a few times bc he sounded really so different.. He’s good at imitating the sounds tho he’s also good at acting. If you watch his video Sanchelin Guide, you’ll see how he can also be a voice actor. Tbh there’s nothing that he can’t do. I really love Light, but Desire... Desire in my opinion is a genius song, and I'm still shook that it came out of a rookie group just 2 months after their debut. They are Pirates that are in desperate research for their Treasure, and the way they portray their desire to find it is so insane. The way the song keeps escalating towards something but suddenly drops down, just to towards the end really give you the feeling something big is about to happen and right when you expect a huge drop they leave you hanging. The way Hongjoong and Mingi's voice keep getting louder and the strong emotion that you can feel in their voice, just to then completely stop the music and end the song, in my opinion is just genius. They make you *feel* their Desire, and with the way the song ends, with that big cliffhanger... you are left wanting more. I personally remember the first time I heard Desire, during Hongjoong's last part I was really getting hyped up, and when the song suddenly finished I almost felt...unsatisfied. Then I realized, that's exactly how the song was meant to make you feel. Ateez are really music geniuses, they usually get criticized for their stylistic choices in music but I genuinely find them crazy smart. Like when in Illusion, some people thought there was too much autotune but... the song is called Illusion. The autotune is used and meant to give you that surreal feeling

I love reading long comments, the amount of insight I can get from them is always great and I appreciate it! And yeah I completely forgot that was their 2nd album... wowza. Tbh this song actually made me feel very satisfied, maybe the opposite of what I was supposed to feel, but it somehow was climactic and intense to the point that I felt it was JUST RIGHT, you know? 😳 but it’s beautiful because with music everyone can feel and interpret it differently!

I feel like with almost every Ateez's songs, they almost never have a huge beat drop. They build up the verses and prechorus so much and then the chorus is very toned down. It's not always a bad thing tho and it really fits their songs. But it's just something that i've noticed. 😅

I actually really love how they used the blindfolds and dark outfits. It adds onto the atmosphere and makes it look more dark (I don't know how to describe it in English helpppp) Also I'm kinda worried for hongjoongs neck. I literally felt pain when he did that move after after his desire rap. 😂😂😂 Something about light just comforts me on days when my anxiety is peaking. Light and sunrise have been my healing songs for some time now and I'm very thankful for that. Thank you so much for reacting as always 🌹

Haha thanks! Tbh I wasn’t getting any hate or anything, I just wanted clarify because I hate misunderstandings. It’s all just my first reaction and usually during editing I listen to those songs so much I actually start to love them even more than during my initial listening to them! Mingi's part in Light is just a chill for me every time I listen. Hongjoong's rap style in any song makes me them tremble with delight. And the vocal line puts so much emotion into their singing. Just incredible and unique beauty in every voice. Thank you very much for your reactions to Ateez.

Actually I met ATEEZ at a music event and they performed 'Light'. They performed HALA-HALA and SMN before performing this, but 'Light' is the one that got my attention and I started to look up to them right away after the music event ended. Light is in my ateez top 3 song along with precious and hala-hala. As for first listen I agree with you. I tend to try to figure out how the music works. But for me, songs that are easy to like usually are also easy to get bored of and that’s usually happen with title tracks. There are some exceptions for songs like light and halahala. They stick and latch on to me without mercy. 😂.

Ateez are well known for their duality, how they can go from Demons to cute, but when it comes to Vocals Duality we have Yunho and Seonghwa Literally Both can go from Deep Dark strong vocals to Soft honey like Vocals ,that's why most of us were shocked at First listening to Seonghwa's First part in Answer and Yunho's part in Light ,literally wonderfully amazing❤ and light is Yunho's song he owns it.

It's understandable to love the songs after few listens bcs tbh sometimes it's quite hard for me to love some songs at first listen bcs idk, maybe I compared it to other songs or sumn but nonetheless their songs 😘 oh and San actually a very good vocalist and have he's the lead vocalist, if im not mistaken so, yeah he has like a very yk, good tones of singing. Oh BTW, I've heard of BTS's Coffee and I do agree with u on this song kinda reminds me of it heee. Then, as for me, Light reeeeeeaaallllyyyyy highlight Yunho's vocal so much, like he has a soft tones and I can say his singing is very good and amaze me actually. And as u said, Yunho's voice is really diverse bcs he actually sings more in lower tones in Pirate King, Treasure, Answer and so on since his voice actually a lower tone? Not so low but it's have like low in it. But he sounds so good when he singing in falsetto or in higher key bcs as I said he has a soft tone hldkdjsjsmsbs and tbh this song made Yunho as my third bias hahahah 😂😂😂 oh btw, as for me, ateez sounds so good when they are harmonizing. As u can listen in Light, they also harmonizing in Answer and u can heard layers in that song too and it's satisfying af 😭😭😭 btw thank u for the video! I've enjoyed it so much! Can't wait for the next album listening

This is literally THE ONLY lyric video for Mist that got the line distribution correctly. All the harmonies in both the songs 'light and desires ' are done by san. He is actually always the one incharge of harmonies and falsettos meanwhile jongo takes the high notes and other higher range parts. Other than san seonghwa also takes part in harmonizing in songs. The vocals or parts are always divided basically according to their roles. (Jongho- main vocal) (San- 2nd main/lead vocal) (Seonghwa, yunho, yeosang, wooyoung - vocalists)

Ateez always sing live. Of course they will let some vocal backtrack do some but they don't hide the part the track is doing. In the beginning of debut KQ didn't let Yeo sing much without heavy backtrack vocals. Ateez are growing vocally and overall. I love With U, Thank U and Mist too. I also recommend Jongho's covers especially My Room.My Heart. Just piano and Jongho.

I guess you prob. figured out by not that the DEBUT Epi 1 album was *purposefully* arranged to appeal to "general" Kpop audiences, and Epi 2 shows the *actual* colors of Ateez. As I said in the last vid, EVERYTHING they do is pre-planned for a very specific reason. Ateez masters songs from *every* genre so it's really kinda funny when people say, "Huh, I thought ___ was their sound." They do not focus on any specific sound my dear. They always sing live & it's kinda hard to say an artist *"usually"* sounds like ___ after only hearing a few *title* songs. You are literally hearing their vocal range for the 1st time here so....

Brave if you to assume I haven’t heard their other lives off camera but ok 😂 and if I say “usually” of course I refer to their songs I’ve heard before, and as I’m going in chronological order it makes sense to say that they have a “usual” sound based on their (back then) only one album. Now they expanded and are touching different styles and genres and it’s cool, but I’m always trying to think of it as of their newest approach, to see how they evolve. And everything is pre-planned in kpop, some groups have concept/storyline/musical strategies going 5-6 years ahead, so that’s not surprising to me at all.

@@Mars-kc2ed Actually you *reacted* to the *title* songs dear that's why u skipped them. I didn' assume anything. U watched all the *title* MV's plus 'Promise' before starting the album listens correct? I watched the others & u said the same thing, why else would u appear so shocked that Yunho has a "strong" voice & that Wooyoung can belt when he feels like it? Yunho has been the regular "Bridge man" on nearly all Ateez songs since 2018 & Wooyoung sings 50% of the background vocals.

Okay but Wooyoung singing so much the background vocals is actually a new info 😳👌🏻 But to be fair, before I started the album listenings, I heard all songs with MVs (Answer, Hala Hala, Wave, Aurora, Illusion, Utopia, Wonderland, Pirate King, Treasure, Say My Name), but I also heard Promise, Horizon, Sunrise, Star 1117, Win~ And I saw their live stages, and all of their KCON performances~ think 15 songs are enough to build at least some basic opinion about the group’s sound and those live performances are enough to see at least their basic live skills. I never assume that’s ALL they’ve got to show us - it’s just a beginning and I haven’t seen all yet (and probably they have more still coming). If I haven’t heard a particular sound or haven’t noticed some particular skill, it’s because that particular thing either didn’t catch my attention earlier for some reason, or it wasn’t as highlighted ^^

And also tbh I prefer ATEEZ’s “actual” color, as you called it, compared to the sound that’s supposed to appeal to people. For some reason is just sounds SO honest and like it’s THEM, you know? Not to say that the other album didn’t sound good (cause it did) but the second one just felt so special and unique. But tbh with every next album I can hear them exploring and reaching for new sounds and it’s so beautiful to experience that, that musical/artistic journey is what’s so appealing.

@@Mars-kc2ed Got it. I stand corrected, luv. I missed the bit about all those "Live stages". And yes, alot of ppl don't realize how much Wooyoung really sings other than his killing parts in 'Mist'. He's one of those u descirbed as "finding his confidence slowly", but Eden uses him alot for those mysterious high vocal backups u like. BTW, Eden is really famous in Korea, but Atiny worldwide "see" him as a genius. Anyway, if ur wondering how Atiny know so much Ateez background, it's bcos they tell us EVERYTHING in our fancafe & on VLive. Just check out their latest YT upload on the *Ateez channel* where they are filming random stuff for no reason @ all & u will witness way too many 'Why do these crackheads think we need to know this?' moments lol. Actually my favorite albums are *Epi. 2 & Epi. Fin* for a specific reason, true Ateez colors. I'm one of the few active fans who does not care for the "Happy Tropical" tracks much. (Wave literally makes me cringe!) 🤭 My fandom/family loves to try to reform my stubborn bias in the cafe but I just yawn & tell em to pop a Xanax cause I'm an unapolgetic 'Wonderland' girl for life. Oh, I subbed btw. Hope u still want me around after all this. lol
