They aren't the traditional "save the world" JRPG. They have more simple stories like trying to find a lost (dead) sister or saving a shop from closing up. They're more wholesome and PG/PG-13 rated affairs. They are more about playing cute girls that go around collecting and making things with alchemy. Very grindy and timed based "missions". Wait until they're on sale and try one out. I love the music, art, style, and stories but i hate the fighting and alchemy stuff so i just cheese it with a trainer to skip the grindy stuff.

Iris reminds me more of Legend of the Dragoon than an atelier game. The Arland trilogy was a return to form for the series.
