ADDENDUM: Hi all! I wanted to add the following pieces of information that’s been clarified since this video was made! 1) You can get more Choose Quantity by raising your alchemy level. You get one additional CQ every 10 levels. 2) Trait transference stops at the final item. You can see the Trait Category by looking up the Trait in the Table of Contents. The Trait Category determines if you can use it for the final item. 3) To Make, shown on the right side display, indicates how many of that item will be made during synthesis! That’s all for now, but I’ll make sure to keep updating this pinned post should more updates arise! Thanks for all the feedback and comments!

I agree. I really love guides that are heavily edited like this. By that I mean, not "Let's play I'll teach you while I'm playing the game while rambling. And each videos going to last 60 minutes, and the series will have 12 episodes in total. Oh it's 40 minutes already, boy so that's how the UI in Dwarf Fortress" "Let's Play" styled tutorials have TOO much noises, compared to this format. Another suggestion is that the auto craft feature typically fuses materials in a way so that it selects a group of materials that all give one trait, such as critical+, healing, few bonus+, etc. Typically, you want to press R1 and use the High Quality auto craft feature, as long as the game isn't using any rare materials in the process (one example in particular is when the game uses natural cloth as a reagent to make natural cloth). Don't be stingy with your materials; you'll get higher level materials before long to outpace your current quality of items anyways, so go ham!

Holy Grimoly - thank you for making this - and speaking clearly... with pictures. Learning that the initial effect unlocking isn't **required**, and the definition of that weird phrase "Choose Quantity" - priceless!! Also, what that mysterious number is below the item (... you know, because it usually means quantity-you-have in every other game - but NOT this one, and they don't tell you that). This is as valuable as the explanation (from someone else) that you don't get to bring consumables in your basket anymore even if you wanted to. It baffles me how Gust can have such excellent translation quality for the script/speech... but their instruction continues to be so lacking.

On the right side, there’s a number next to a label called “To Make!”
@johnjsal2 жыл бұрын
Very helpful, but I wish the video had explained the four numbers on the right side of the screen, around the picture of the item, i.e. "Lv", "To Make", "A-Lv.", etc. Edit: For what it's worth, I've learned a few things: "Lv" is the level of the item you're making. It has to be equal or lower than your alchemy level in order to make it. "A-Lv" is your alchemy level. "To Make" is how many of that item will be made in one synthesis. (This isn't show for single items like Bombs, Blessing Ointment, etc.) And the number in the lower left is the Element Value of the item you are making. This will increase/decrease depending on item quality. What this is is the number you see next to an item that represents how many nodes it will fill up in a loop. So if you are making some ingots with a "3" here, that means the resulting ingots will be worth a value of 3 for future synthesis recipes. It also shows the elements of the item here, so if the ingot has the fire symbol, it will be worth 3 fire nodes in my example.

Yes. The only reason why you’d make multiples is to try to make a better item. With the new Core Charge system, none of the items you make will ever be truly consumed!

How come adding materials can lower a recipe's quality rather than raise it? As shown briefly onscreen at 7:39
@BacklogBattle4 жыл бұрын
The Materials need to have as high of a quality as the rest of the ingredients you’ve put in. Anything lower and it pulls it down.

Thanks for the guide! The games explanation wasn't that good, but you made it more clear. But i still need to watch this video a few times until i really get it ^^ A combat tutorial would also be neat.

Tristan Hobson they also put some tutorials in the weirdest places. I recall getting a battle tutorial while I was in Ryza’s room and I was like, “Why didn’t you just put this tutorial in battle?” lol

Thanks a lot for the super detailed and noob-friendly guide. This is my first Atelier game and I'm glad I stumbled upon your videos. You have one more subscriber :) The only thing that I could think of to make your video even better is that you should straight up tell which button does what, for example the Table of Contents button is the minus button. It's kind of a trivial thing but some people don't see that there is a button list at the bottom of the screen haha. By the way are you planning to do more guides on the game, and maybe some more advanced guides for mid-/late/postgame?
@BacklogBattle5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! For some reason I totally forgot to point out the buttons on the bottom! The reason why I left them out is because it was going to be different per platform, but I certainly could’ve pointed people to the button guide on the bottom! I currently have two guides I’m working on: Trait transference and a basic combat guide. If people want me to make more guides for the game, I’ll certainly make them! I’ve been reading through the comments to see what people are having problems with and acting based on that!

@@BacklogBattle If you can and you find it's worth it then maybe you make a guide on how to find materials (I know we can see item locations in the guide menu but it would be cool if we know which type of item we can get from trees or rocks or flowers etc., also from which gathering tools). Also maybe you can make a guide on team composition or how to best use each character, and also what to do in postgame. Don't know if people care about those in Atelier games, just some ideas. Anyways I'm looking forward to your future guides and videos.
@BacklogBattle5 жыл бұрын
I’ll definitely consider those, as they’re great ideas! The challenge is balancing making videos about Atelier Ryza and also finding the time to play other games that are coming in for review. Given that I’m a one man crew here, there’s a delicate balance I have to maintain. 😁 Right now my focus is trying to help people learn the intricacies of the game and providing an alternative to the tutorials. Though I suspect as the days go by, there will be a demand for more late game feature tutorials!

Really good guide, I was starting to piece it together myself but this helped clarify a lot ^_^ A few questions; what exactly determines the quality of the ingredients you harvest? Is it your alchemy level? Or is it based on the 'difficulty' of the area you're in? I seem to have better luck finding stuff far away, but then sometimes I find high quality stuff just messing around town so it's a bit confusing. I'm also assuming that the quality of your harvesting tools helps, but what about stuff you hit with your staff or just pick up? The min-maxer in me must know! Thank you again for the help!
@BacklogBattle5 жыл бұрын
I wish I knew tbh! All I know is that if I wanted better quality versions of a material that I’ll just go to a tougher area and gather there. The material requirements are a bit more lenient in this game than previous games, so this can certainly help you later on. I hope this helps, even for a little bit!
@aella20165 жыл бұрын
@@BacklogBattle Thank you, it does seem to make the most difference. I think alchemy lvl might affect it cause I'm noticing higher level stuff even when I'm gathering in town but going far out into the harder areas is definitely the best way to get the good stuff in my experience!
@Aryenf5 жыл бұрын
Q about trait slot I don't play the game yet, but in the previous game you need alchemy LV 30 to get all three trait My friend said that in the beginning, you already got three trait slots, so what is the purpose of trait slot material loop there?
@Aryenf5 жыл бұрын
Also q about complete crafting stuff In the mid/endgame, did you already make stuff with maxed effect (ex: explosive uni with explosive,surprise L, and the other effect ) ? Sorry for my bad english
@BacklogBattle5 жыл бұрын
That’s confusing so let’s clarify. Yes, all three trait slots can have assigned traits to them. However, the traits you assign will be locked, meaning whatever they do will not work. To make them work, you need to spend materials in the Trait material loop to enable/unlock them!
@BacklogBattle5 жыл бұрын
Yes! This is possible in the mid-game!

Can you explain Travel Bottle? The new patch says travel bottle can go up to 200, but there are no explanation on how to raise travel bottle level.
@BacklogBattle5 жыл бұрын
I’d assume this has something to do with the new difficulty level they added. I’ll have to check!
