34 0 seconds ago The only reason Tab was sweeping in his early years was because teams were less competitive- only a few teams were really strong. But in the recent years when other Univs stepped up, he could no longer sweep. As it is, for Coach Gold to finish at 6-1 in a more competitive uaap vs tab at 4-3, it’s very clear-Coach Gold has more wins, Tab has more losses, right. Round 1. A sweep in easier times is not necessarily better than a single loss in tougher times. Tab wasn’t able to sweep other tougher seasons either. Remember it was Coach Gold who broke his “sweeping streak” in S84. Btw Coach Gold’s not copying Tab., nor UP, Ateneo. They seek to set a different benchmark and level of game for their team. Ha ha

Di Naman masakit. Bleh!😂😂😂 Kidding aside, I saw this all coming. As a UP fan,I expected how the game went except the ending. I was hoping for a strong cardiac finish from UP but I know there are things they needed to improve on and Coach Tab would capitalize on UP’s weakness and his players’ talents. Like I said Tab is tab so as a UP fan I knew this is coming. Pero shempre of course as a fan I was hoping for a sweep. I expected Alarcon’s game, especially JD’s will be neutralized by the best defensive player Tab has in the name of Quitevis and Koon. Match ups like Janjan vs Espinosa and Brown vs JD happened as expected. And true enough, just like what I mentioned, Ateneo would capitalize on Amos and Ballungay as their big men, Brown would show off his shooting skill and if Amos erupt, they’d just be lethal to UP. And it did. I saw this all coming after a UP-DLSU game and by how Ateneo performed during their previous games. How much more the coaching staff and game specialist of the team, di ba. I was hoping UP to win but it would be a fhard battle. I want to commend UPMBT for doing their best and hope that that loss won’t get in their head. Just like I expected , CJ would be a spark plug of the team and the crowd. Kudos to CJ for the stunning performance. Appreciation post too for Alter and sending my prayers to Francis, I hope he’s okay. What I’m concerned more as a fan is UPMBT’s health. That's what matters more to us. Bounce back stronger! We still have faith inn Coach Goldwyn, the coaching staff and the boys. Kaya! We believe! Just like I expected maraming fouls committed ang UP compared to ADMU. Manipis ba ang tawag? I dunno. Let the people in MOA answer. From real time telecast perspective, the calls were good. I also like Sir Miko’s and Diego’s coverage of the game. Just like I mentioned on my previous comments, the weaknesses and strengths of UP and La Salle became apparent after the game. After that game, most concluded UP is a winning team but there are still things needed to improve on. Even me who’s just a fan and who knows too little about technical gameplays know and expect that Ateneo will capitalize their big men. Also that they're really a threat from rainbow land. The game is also similar to first half of the game against La Salle where Austria and Philips kept hounding the spot. That’s what Credo and Koon did challenging Diouf and that specific area in the paint. Like we predicted as fans, lumitaw nga Yung match ups we felt Coach Tab had been preparing against UP based on their previous games. As usual Quitevis was there to neutralize JDs performance during crucial moments of the game. I don’t know sino nagbabantay Kay Harold but it was effective. I think it was Koon yata. I won’t crucify nor criticize UPMBT. I trust Coach Goldwyn, Coach Chua, Coach Christian and the rest of coaching staff and the players, they’d learn from it, adjust and bounce back strong from the loss. UP Fight! We love you UPMBT. Kudos pa rin.

Meanwhile Ateneo had worked on the spot left behind by Padrigao on Espinosa and Brown and Kouame's spot filled in by Amos and Ballungay tandem.

Anyone who's observant can notice the stroke of ADMU players shots (It's smooth) and based on their previous matches, what Tab was really trying to hone his team and what he wants his team to become. Anyone can explode from the three point line and their team is still intact and had many weapons. The cold blooded weapons who were keys to Season85 championship are still there. Koon, Ballungay, Gab, Quitevis and Lazaro. Those players have strong EQs and proven can perform the role they're asked. Plus additional lethal weapon in the name of Amos who's a clutch player and born scorer. Plus he's 6'7. This balanced the loss of Kouame. The panic stemmed from not being used to being 3rd or 4th in ranking. So...yk I think the claim was also done to reduce the pressure from the players to get that back to back title. Anyway it's just my opinion. Who am I? I'm just a fan with little to nothing knowledge about basketball.

Parang round 2 lang ng S84. Ateneo had a deep line up. Then Coach Gold and the Fighhing Maroons happened. Ateneo couldn’t pull off a season sweep, UP gave them their only loss. Parang ganun lang. Since Coach Gold, Tab hasn’t been able to sweep. Other local coaches have beaten him as well 👍
