LONG STORY ALERT: For the first time since I've subscribed to your channel I find myself in disagreement with some of your review. I guess it had to happen eventually! But you are awesome so I shouldn't be surprised it took this long to happen. I'm writing this up as a full review. Let me explain/give my 2 cents on both companies products..As an owner of both an xTool D1 Pro and an Atezr P20 (their previous 24 watt version which is just the same machine with a different laser module) who uses both machines for business/production work I find myself in a position to say with confidence the Atezr is the better machine overall if you intend to use it for serious work. I do agree that xTool is further ahead with their self developed software and that its quite capable for hobbyist jobs and that Lightburn is a necessity for the Atezr lasers. I did not really consider this a downside as Lightburn is THE industry standard and I'd already bought a copy for my D1 since it's also necessary for the xTool to do any complex work beyond hobbyist jobs. I haven't really touched the xTool software since the first day I set it up beyond firmware update etc. because it's not robust enough to do real work within. Result: Software ease of use goes to xTool for the hobbyist. The Atezr is a beast of a machine, a workhorse that has had zero downtime since I put it into service. This is in contrast to my experience with the xTool. Let's just say that xTool(Makeblock) struggles with customer service and support issues and has for ages now. This is not a secret and you can confirm it just by searching the web. There are many, many customers frustrated with xTool service and support. When I received my machine it took over 6 weeks for me to be able to use it because it arrived with missing parts. It took me over a week to get a response from customer service. They agreed to send the parts which after 2 weeks had not arrived. When I reported this instead of just shipping the parts again they ARGUED with me about it. Understand these were not expensive electronics we're talking about a metal shaft, motor cable and limit switch cables. Yet they chose to argue rather than preserve the relationships with their new customer. On the other hand, my Atezr arrived complete, I reached out to support with questions and support responded within 24 hours. To be honest, my questions were to test support after my experience with xTool. I was concerned about purchasing another machine from a manufacturer overseas. Results: Support - Atezr= A+, xTool=FFFF-- Speaking of workhorse, you noted the speed being slower than advertised. The maximum speed of this machine can be increased within the Lightburn console from the factory default which is set to 6kmms but the control board is capable of 24,800 and it can be increased to that speed. However, let me just say that while all of these diode laser companies claim these crazy speeds none of them can produce high quality results at those speeds and none of those speeds are sustained, meaning their burst rates. It's essentially a marketing ploy they ALL use and they need to just stop. The performance/results of all diodes at these extreme speeds is so subpar that nobody would bother to use those settings. Hardware: Both machines are built well, Atezr has a much larger footprint so it has a larger workspace. Atezr also has touchscreen controller. It's clunky but it still allows you to run a project without being hooked to a computer. I sometimes bring it outside when I'm using very smelly materials that I don't want to deal with inside even with an enclosure. Also, the air assist runs through the power supply so it doesn't require a separate power supply or plug/outlet. Results: Atezr wins. Rotary: Hands down xTool makes the best rotary on the market. Thankfully it ships with multiple connectors so it can be used on the Atezr and other lasers. Because of this is a non-issue. I use the xTool rotary on my Atezr. The biggest difference between the two is software but I stated my opinion on that. The second important thing is how they treat their customers. Thus far Atezr is miles above in that department.

I think apart from the pure hardware, the customer department is very important. Sooner or later something will break, or you have a question. When they don't respond or argue, then the best hardware is almost useless. So, thanks for your insights!

Good stuff my cyber friend! The rotary tool was potentially why I would have given the nod to xtool.

I own this laser, and I agree with this review. The added power makes it like a very valid option to cut things, which wasn’t really a doable job by a diode laser even a year ago. What a time to be alive!

You are articulate and obviously intelligent. You give a really good unbiased review full of detail. I get tired of the biased overly theatrical reviews. Based upon your review I think that this Atezr V35 would be an interesting starting point for my guitar business, especially since it can be purchased for under $1000 WITH the Pro rotary tool. Thank you for helping me make my decision.

excellent, concise and informative as usual! Looking forward for your review of the coming Sovol SV07 and your advise for those who have an SV06 and SV06 Plus, if they should upgrade to a SV07 or if they can make upgrades on their SV06 and Plus to match the SV07.

Great review. It is wonderful to learn from such a well spoken technical woman. Keep up the great work. I am considering this unit. Do they have an IR laser coming out ?

I didn't see that they are going to release an IR laser, but I will review the xTool F1 in the coming weeks, which combines IR and blue lasers and can work on more materials.

I would suggest checking the belt tensions and adjusting the tightness of the rubber wheels by turning the eccentric nuts.

The machine comes set to 6000mm/min, but you can increase it to the advertised maximum by editing the GRBL settings.

Have you been able to get a Golf Ball Dialed in? I want to try this on my V35.

The plastic or rubber surface of the golf ball will melt when you engrave it. I tried with a TaylorMade and a Titleist, and both of them melted.
