Hi Everyone, Thanks for watching! Let me know what you think of the BitPixel HV!
@foojae2 жыл бұрын
Great review as always. I wish Arcade1Up would send you some products for reviewing considering how much of an advocate you are for their cabinets and accessories and you put out high quality review videos. AtGames recognizes you and see your value to the retro community. Just my two cents.

Great review of the BitPixel HV Michael B., you covered all the main points! Definitely enjoying the HV here as well. Thank you for the mention and happy the FX3 stuff was helpful. Again, great job Dude!

As usual, great video Michael B. I would definitely have bought this but I’m holding out for the deluxe backbox from Bustuff
@MichaelBtheGameGenie2 жыл бұрын
Well that's the thing, a deluxe backbox kind of renders this obsolete and i dont even know if it would assemble correctly. Thanks btw
@ien20232 жыл бұрын
It a smaller version of the ALU Bit Pixel so there's no excuse why it cost more than the ALU version.

I'm not a big fan of this and rather buy the back box from Buystuff. It's beautiful. Thanks for the video.

If I ever find myself with the ALP, I'd definitely move my Bitpixel LED over to the ALP as a topper. However, I'd really want AtGames to push an update that would send the DMD stream from the pre-installed and downloadable content to the Bitpixel LED, which would make it possible for me to see with my vision. A toggle option between animated topper, and DMD stream would have to be done by AtGames, as a firmware update, though. Thanks for sharing.

You may have just convinced me to get one ....not for the stock tables - but for FX3 and the hope that it'll work with VPX.
@MichaelBtheGameGenie2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that is pretty neat isn't it

@@MichaelBtheGameGenie I use Popper and I'm concerned using it for FX3 would mess up my DMD.exe settings..(Just watched Wagner's vid so this is a concern of mine).

Mine arrived today, two things shuts off when the ALP is turned off. Also a small switch above the USB port I can’t tell what it does. Definitely looks cool

Unfortunately you did not mention that it costs $200 plus shipping.

I did forget to mention the cost. While it is actually $300 regular price I did however include a link to the still active NOD reservation for $120 in the description, here it is again just in case www.atgames.us/collections/nod-2022/products/bitpixel-hv-for-nod-2022-deal-reservation

Do you still need to get the Video Input Backglass Switchboard for the Legends Pinball to have all three screens to light up?
@toothyweasel27052 жыл бұрын
So for the default tables it doesn’t do the dmd stuff like the Jurassic park table, that’s only via third party software for third party virtual pinball?
@kenfischer27852 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the review. I see 1 annoying issue with this - the requirement to plug USB cables in front of the back box brings a USB cable needlessly into view. The lack of a power button doesn’t bother me since I’ll have this, my solenoids and the ALP all wired to a smart switch so that they all go on and off as a system. A dynamic topper has great potential, and I would hope atgames will either come up with something more akin to actual pinball toppers (ie more graphically oriented rather than just the name of the table in a nice font) and/or use the screen as a DMD for built in games that have DMD’s. If implemented correctly, this unit could be a huge differentiator between ALP and A1U pinball machines.

I added a power USB port on my ALU behind the rear cover and connected the bit pixel to that and the usb cable that is connected to usb for the front usb into the power usb port. I don't have a bunch of cables in front in the machine. My bit pixel turns off when I power off the button on the control deck.

@@MichaelBtheGameGenie ha! I just put a comment on why you should be on their high priority list for Arcade1Up reviews in another comment considering you put up high quality review videos and a honest review at that. I don't get it.

Does the ALP launch the pixelcade app automatically when powered on after install or do we need to do it manually? Also, does the current firmware turn the display off when the machine is powered down?
@capriceking2 жыл бұрын
I don’t own a pinball machine, but I do have a ALU cab. Will this work with the ALU ? I simply just want to hang over my cab.

I thought the marketing material stated it could replace the actual current static light-up marquee, but haven’t seen anyone do it yet… is that actually an option instead of mounting above it (e.g. inside the back-box replacing the Legends static LED lit marquee?).

No, top only

Great review, the most in-depth I've seen so far. Any chance we can change that default logo to something else of our choice for whenever the ALP is turned off?
@atheistofthenorth1592 жыл бұрын
I did that with the BitPixel LED. I have it hooked up to a PC for Hyperspin and the default is on the SD card in the BitPixel. You can remove the SD card and create your own logo or, what I did, go to PixelCades website and download the original default which loops marquees. I couldn't stand the Legends logo, esp as I wasn't using on a legends product and I have a proper topper on my ALP.

Yeah that is a weird decision right. It apparently has been an ongoing thing since the first bitpixel for the ALU

Yeah atgames seems to be getting worse over time. Not adding on off switches to these marquees was a dumb move.
