OK, some of you guys have pointed out that the stock Bally didn't actually have Fester in the chair! My mistake for sure (I've never not seen him in the chair, either in real-life or vpin). Thanks to everyone who caught that....

Coincidentally, I noticed no Fester for the first time on a real table I just played. I had always thought it was there as well. The mod is such a great touch to the table.

Yeah, it's so good you'd think they'd have done it right from the start! I mean it never occurred to me that Fester didn't come stock. It'd be cool if down the line AG/Zen could make it an unlockable award.

Fester in the chair reminds me of Metallica pinball. It also has a guy in an electric chair that is a main target.

I wish Atgames would release an all black pinball cabinet that has no games but is just ready for you to plug in your own PC into it. Then offer decal/vinyl separately if people want to decorate the cab. I don't want an adams family cabinet and I don't want to pay for their system running their suite of tables to play.

I don't think that you were right when you said that maybe visually it wasn't perfect but, that didn't affect the game play? Personally I think because it is a vpin visuals need to be on point to make up for what you don't have in a real pinball machine the tactile feel.

I’m almost sure Fester was NOT in the chair originally. It was a popular mod, but I know I’ve seen tables out there that don’t have him in the chair. I don’t know if he was added for the collector’s edition or not, I’ve never seen one of those in person. Also, the SSF kit price is $399. I’m holding off because it’ll definitely go on sale for half off again during a NOD sale. Or I’ll see if someone else releases a better priced equivalent. I still have not heard anything from AtGames on my pre-order. I did NOT get the offer to get my deposit back because of a delay, which is good, but also nothing about collecting payment or expected ship dates either.

@@evilgeniusentertainment Sticking with it. I really like that AFM table, but I’d prefer to have the machine sooner and I’m not going to pay an extra $400 for the theme. Went back and ready the order email and looks like invoices go out tomorrow!

Yeah that was a good deal. But AG has sales on a pretty regular basis (next month in about a month I think), so save those pennies!

Uncle Fester was not on the Bally pinball. You can check Pinside, IPDB, or look at an original flyer. Collectors like to mod their machines and that is a common mod. I have a monster fish on my Fish Tales. Love your video, except for that.

They don't have Fester on today's table in the Steam/Epic store, so it is not a surprise it is not on this table. I am waiting for Medieval Madness. And I wonder if it is going to be hooked into the Zen high scores or the AtGames high scores.

100% agree about the ramp track. I'm watching on my phone and as soon as it popped up on the screen I could tell it looked terrible. With as good as so many virtual tables look there is no excuse for graphic elements that look like they were pulled from the pinball game that came with Windows 94.

Having owned a real Addams Machine I can say they didn’t ship with uncle Fester, it’s was an after market addition. I sold my AF machine (sadly) and now waiting for ATG to release it in the UK sometime in 2024. I can say that the gameplay from Wagners video is very close to the OG game. 😊

Yeah, I thought the actual game play was pretty good. And I have little doubt that Zen will keep tweaking it - AG has a lot riding on these 4K vpins.

Getting excited, I ordered it the first week. Although, I'm kind of bummed (in a way) that I'm getting the SSF installed. Since now, I'll have to wait while other people get theirs first and start posting good or bad reviews... I know it's dumb, but it will kinda of spoil the initial surprise suspense.

Still, I think it'll be worth the wait. I mean out of the box, without having to do a thing, you'll have 7.1 sound. That's pretty slick.

That really looks like the older Pinball Arcade version of the table rather than the Zen version.

Be sure to look at Jon's video too - it'll be sharper on his channel. Never played the Pinball arcade version, but I'm guessing Zen had to sacrifice a bit of graphic fidelity to make sure the gameplay was there, which overall is the right decision.

116 ms of flipper lag is the biggest issue. I’m surprised you didn’t address it because that’s buckets of lag. It’s unplayable.

Didn't seem like Jon was having a problem with lag - said he got the highest score he ever got on the game. But of course, that's going to be one of those factors I could only really test if I had the table in front of me. I'd be surprised if it was a problem mushc less unplayable, but if it is a problem I have (at least some) faith that Zen/AG would work to fix it.

116 ms seems high though doesn’t it? I mean usually everything over 60ms is pretty noticeable. I agree with you though, hard telling until we play it.

I think it'll depend on the user to a certain extent - if the only table you play is the 4K, you'd get used to it. But if you're playing the ALP4K, then a high end vpin, then a real table, you might run into issues. I don't know why lag would be a problem, at least technically.

@@evilgeniusentertainment Well in his first video he played off the lag. Then, in his latest video, he talked about how terrible it was "before," but now it was "fixed." He doesn't seem like he's completely honest.

I’m very excited. Ordered the first weekend. Upgraded to have the SSF factory installed so I’m still hoping to get the email this weekend to finalize my order. I didn’t notice uncle Fester was missing from the chair since it’s been 30 years since I’ve had the chance to play one of my favorite tables. And interestingly, it’s going next to my NFL Blitz cab. LOL. Living in a pinball desert I’m so excited to have access to pinball again. Drum roll to get this sucker home. 🖖🏼

The Uncle Fester in the chair was Christopher Lloyds face, maybe thats why. They should have made a generic Fester like the one between the flippers.

my big disappointment is that they've dropped the ball on all the other Zen tables we were supposed to be able to buy at launch. There was a big list they promised in December. So I'm getting a machine with one table I didn't already have and all I can add (right now) that's new to me is Snoopy. That's pretty disappointing. I was planning on Twilight Zone, World Cup Soccer, South Park, etc right off the bat. I bet they are having lag problems getting them to run smoothly. I hope they haven't promised what they can't deliver......

I think it'll be more about when they deliver vs if. Clearly it's in their best interests to get as many tables up for sale as possible, so I'd think that will happen fairly quickly. Flipper lag a bigger issue that - if it's as bad as some have said - could be a real problem.

AG responded to me asking if we could adjust angle/aspect ratio and they told me, "Not yet," which means that they're working on it (I think).

Well, you could change the view on the ALP HD on most game, albeit to only one other choice in POV. So I think it's technically possible, at least to give us a couple of other aspect ratios....

I think the ALP 4K is great value, but it is not a high end machine. I think most people would be perfectly happy with it, but some would definitely want more after "getting a taste" so to speak.

After playing Adam's Family on VPX, this AtGames version looks like a bad cartoony version of the real thing in comparison.

Well, you're not wrong - Zen has never gone in for photo-realism on any of it's tables and AF is not exception. As I mentioned, I would have like wee bit more attention to detail. But of course, that AF for VPX is one of the best looking (if not the best) table in all of virtual pinball, so it's a bit unfair. And course, your PC/video card alone probably costs more then the 4K does. So a bit apples and oranges.

The Pinball FX version by Zen has WAY more detail though. I wonder if they just rushed it to deliver the ATG 4k's and this isn't the final product or if the table just cant handle all the details.

There is just a different appeal to the Zen tables. The challenges are addictive and something I would love to see implemented in VPX, somehow. Until then, both VPX and Pinball FX will get played regularly.

@@evilgeniusentertainment my computer running VPX is only a tiny fraction of what the 4K ALP costs. But it’s not even just the attention to detail that this AtGames table falls flat on, it’s the lighting and horrible flipper lag. I get what you’re saying though.

It's a little bit like SPACE INVADERS arcade version vs the Atari 2600 - they're both fun, both basically the same thing, and they're just different enough to justify owning. One of the main reasons I want one of these 4K ALPs is to have a dedicated Zen cab - they have some freakin' great games.

I just played the Zen version of The Addams Family on Steam and Uncle Fester is not on the chair. Maybe Zen did not get the rights to him.

I guess it's actually more arcade accurate not to have him in the chair - he was added as mod by owners (and vpin table creators)!
