Amazing Work! I love that you kept the 15.6" at games display as your DMD to maintain the dual functionality. I have seen a lot of mods on these but yours hands down it the best out there. Congrats.

Fantastic job on this. Did you stencil and paint the plexiglass black for the dmd screen? Wasn’t sure how your went from how it looked in vid 3 to the super clean look here. Thanks for sharing your work.
@lordjules Жыл бұрын
I put the plexi on with one side of the backing off. Then I traced the outline of the monitor using a straight edge (ruler). Then on the mask side of the plexi I transferred the marks by using painters tape. Use an xacto knife to trim the tape so you form the border. Then simply mask out the areas that will be shown and spray paint using a matte paint. When it shows through the other side it will appear glossy.

Very cool system! What was the total cost of the mod not including the PC parts? I'm looking to do something similar but want to have an idea of the final budget before starting. Thanks!

Most of this stuff except for the computer are in the video descriptions. Got them from Amazon. Otherwise it’s things I had laying around (like the monitor). I would say I put $500 or so into it.

how did you get rid of the otg cables?
@lordjules2 жыл бұрын
I used flat cables and a made a small groove under the back box to bring the cables under and a hole under the back box to bring them through. Hello. Happy new year. Parts should be in the description above. I will add a link to the exciters I used and anything else I may have missed. I didn't list the monitor (24" HP) because it was something I re-used and had laying around.

@lordjules3 жыл бұрын
@@jay2533 they are mounted on the rear using small screws. You can cut 1/2” screws to size with some linesman pliers if you don’t have small enough screws. You don’t want them more than a 1/4”

Maybe I missed this and sorry if I did. Since you went caseless and put your PC inside the pin, how do you turn it on? I'm assuming you rigged up a switch. Where did you put it? Is it possible to connect the power from the At Legends to the PC so you can turn both of them on and off at the same time?
@lordjules2 жыл бұрын
I hooked up the power button to the same button you'd use to swap to OTG mode on the Rachel board. So when going to OTG mode, it turns on the PC. And when turning off the PC it disables OTG mode. There is a single power cord into the cabinet. It is then forked between a smart powerstrip and the ALP power supply. So turning off the master switch will indeed turn both off at the same time. But for a windows PC, you'd want to shut it down first...

How does power work on this? Are you running everything tied into the original AtGames power supply?
@lordjules3 жыл бұрын
There are 4 power supplies in the cabinet. The atgames power supply, the computer power supply and two meanwell DIN rail power supplies for the surround sound.
@godgivesbelovedoak3 жыл бұрын
Hope you didn't update to 5.58 firmware. OTG is broken. I'm in the middle of a similar project and going back to stock I'm getting screen stuttering. I know it's the firmware because other monitors are butter smooth with all 3 screens

I was confused by this comment earlier as my machine happily reports 40.50.0 is the newest firmware. Did a little digging and apparently my machine is stuck at that revision and I would need a factory reset to get the newer firmware release. That said, it’s working as is, I see no need to update given the amount of issues they introduce with newer de updates. So gonna stick with this old revision until they get their act straight.

Did you make the backbox yourself?

Yep. Took the old one apart and rescued the screen and built this one from scratch using 1/2” mdf
