Welcome to my channel. I have been playing and collecting games since 1987 and I use this channel to share my passion and memories of gaming. I review games that I believe are under appreciated or wrongfully dismissed on Game Genie Reviews. Video Game Nostalgia is a fun series where I take a look at a topic from my gaming past and share games that come to mind from it. I also do Top 10 lists, of course I do...what else is on youtube right? Well I like to think I put my own spin on them because they are based on my life in gaming. Hope you enjoy the channel and always looking forward to hearing from you.

It's good to see Atari buy Intellivision, but truthfully, Atari isn't the same company from the '80s-it's a different company that kept the Atari name. But yeah, it's good to see this because the Atari of today can make more retro games. Altogether, thank you for the news; good stuff all around.

Appreciate the video, Mike! Couple things.. I believe the box design for the new Evercade VS-R controller says "Compatible With: VS, VS-R, ALPHA", indicating that Alpha is a gameplaying platform as opposed to a arcade control stick or the like. As for Atari's purchase of Intellivision, the CURRENT Intellivision Entertainment that moves on separately will re-brand and be responsible for anything Amico, and Atari will license the games they wish for use on the Amico should that go forward (it's been laughable for quite some time). It's wise that Atari did not wish to purchase the train wreck that is Amico. What's odd is because Intellivision was bleeding money, they sold off a few game licenses (such as Astrosmash, and Shark! Shark!) to a European company named BBG Entertainment which then released those games on app stores I believe. That puts into question whether Atari can still release new games under those licenses (like Astrosmash Recharged), or can only re-release the original games re-packaged. Should be interesting to see what fleshes out for sure. I see it likely that we have an Intellivision+ console coming during the holiday season or sometime in 2025!

Amico is as big of a fog storm as ever, just without the Intellivision brand now. Granted they did get some cash out of this deal so will be interesting to see if they use it to immediately release the console (doubtful) OR just take the money to keep themselves on salary a few more years for doing nothing at all (as they have been doing the past 5 years).

@@mikehawk-hertz8668 A total trainwreck for sure! I was an original founder back in 2018, but jumped off years ago.. What a pathetic ordeal.

Nothing for me on this sale, maybe next NOD will have some deals for alp 4kp hardware. I don't mind paying full price for Twilight Zone its pretty good. Hope Atari releases an Intellivision +, I will have to pick up the carts before the prices spike!

We do know the vs-r controller works on both the vs-r and the Alpha. So alpha is some sort of console, whether it's a traditional set top box, handheld, or some other form factor, like a mini arcade, we will just have to see.

I think a Mini Arcade makes a lot of sense. They already source screens, batteries and buttons, they just need to put a joystick on something that looks like the Astro Mini and with the included cartridge port it gives us access to a nice library of arcade and console games. Then the extra controllers can be used for multiplayer.

Judging by the logo, the Evercade alpha maybe a computer based console like the c64,amiga ect(keyboard, mouse and joystick) 🤞

Ah man the Amico will never die huh? Yeah the history of the revamp intellivision and the downfall is a rabbit hole. The Saga lasted a couple of years so now they finally sold to Atari. You guys should take a look into it, it’s straight wild.

After watching your video I was able to get a more detailed explanation from Atari. On my Twitter if you view my replies they answered directly to some questions I had. They will NOT be taking over the Amico project. My evaluation is the now former Intellivision group (still involving Phil Adam, Tommy Tallarico and other ass clowns) will be rebranding as just "Amico Brand" or "Amico Group." Right now that group has the most capital that they will ever see again having literally sold off everything... so if they are not going into immediate production of the Amico we know they are just pocketing the money and milking out the operation just long enough to not get sued for their prior crowdfunding fraud.

Hopefully we still can get Night Stalker from all this big mess. Again all about the games. Maybe Atari will actually do something with it vs Amico standing around not doing jack.

I’m pretty sure Atari wants nothing to do with Amico, most people I’ve heard from take the press release as Atari bought the company name and IP’s but not Amico, Cheers🕹

Amazing!!! Congratulations to Atari, but seriously just a couple months ago Bash Gaming Studios similarly announced working on trying to attain those very same licenses and Amico games and got critically ridiculed and called scammers. They didn’t get any support but Today the whole gaming community is surprised and cheering for Atari??? I understand that the brand name of Atari can deliver, but sheesh Fellow devs and gamers trying to make a name for themselves in this gaming business got buried and shitted on. 🤷🏿‍♂️

On the amico front, I think the console is dead. They are releasing amico games on cell phones and it likely means they are bringing the amico platform of games to the vcs just like they did with antstream and polymega.. and something i suspect may eventually happen with an investment at a1up if and when a1up really starts developing a can with online store capabilities.

Arcade1Up will never do that now. The Reverse will happen where they will sell controllers that work with consoles and a small assortment of games tied to the controller
