I was born and raised a catholic, and when I was little I believed in all that, but I also believed in Santa, the Easter bunny and the tooth fairy, then you grow and mature and start thinking with your own brain, ask questions and never get any rational answers, the answers where always, "the bible says so" if Santa and the tooth fairy were mentioned in the bible Christians would believe in them too just because the bible says so, that's the problem with religion, it is based on faith, you just have to believe it no questions asked.

If there was a god to thank for both Matt and Seth, I'd sacrifice lambs, sloths, orangutans and breakfast cereals on the alter every day! Each host on this show adheres closely to sound logic and reasoning, even if in the process it seems they are harsh it's 1000% better treatment than I ever got in the evangelical christian churches I used to attend who were only interested in keeping me in the echo chambers of twisted logic. Poor guy that Andrew. He memorized all those verses but the problem is that they had nothing to do with the questions Matt and Seth asked. When asked another question he just started to blab out more verses that were completely off topic... I can handle a world where Andrew is doing this, but the problem is that he sound erely similar to another person who just babbles stuff incoherently and without any connection to anything that comes close to the answer to the question he was asked. That guy holds the nuclear codes and has much more potential impact on our lives then poor Andrew from the beginning of the story....

What Frodo should have responded with: "So...what you telling me is that, in the future Gollum will be a part of our story...and that's why I shouldn't kill Gollum? What? Obviously, if I allow Gollum to continue to interfere with our plans...we will see him "playing a part" in these events. He will be apart of the game until someone kicks him out. IF I don't kill him and allow him to live...literally no matter what happens, your prediction will come true! AND if I do kill him, obviously, he will not be apart of these events. 🤷 so...Gandalf, you have given me zero informatiom!!! Why, why did you tell me this?" Gandalf: "Hey, I know more stuff than you! And you don't know anything, do YOU know what's going to happen?" Frodo: "No, I don't..." Gandald: "I do, so yes, I uh, I do see Gollum in these events though...so you must have not killed him right now."...why else would I have brought it up? Frodo: "Wait, so you know we win then, right? If you can tell the future." Gandalf: Hahaha, well, I am super smart, so why wouldn't I pick the winning team? I wouldn't be hanging out with the hobbits who didn't get the ring. Frodo: Haha, yeah, that does make sense! Sweet. So what do we do? How do I win in the future? Gandalf: Oh yeah, about that... Frodo: What. You told me to not kill Gollum, because he has a part to play *and* that the part he could play could involve him hurting me and the cause. Gandalf: uuh hahaha look, it's important that I don't tell you the whole plot, because then you'll be overthinking it the whole time, you know? If I tell you Gollum is going to hurt you or kill your friend, then you will probably try to stop it from happening. Frodo: OK, yeah, I guess I understand that possibility. But like, so...what part do you play, can you tell me that?? At least? Gandalf: Look, I don't know what effect me telling you any of these events will have on the events. Frodo: You can't even give me a hint. Can you at least tell me what direction to go in? A clue? Gandalf: You just gotta take the ring over to the fire, sigh. Look, just go do it. Go over there. That's all I can tell you. ..... Frodo: So, things really have to only go one way. There's only one path we can take, which is I must walk it blindly and trust that our interactions are completely according to plan - like, you have to bullshit and play games and be vague as hell, it's the only way for things to unfold properly. Gandalf:...yes, uh, exactly!! That's, exactly what I mean, hehe you got it. Frodo: Wow, that sucks I have no free will, is that going to last beyond the time we conquer all as planned? Wait, how do you know any of this? Can you at least tell me that? Gandalf: ...... Frodo: Look, I get it, you can only answer certain questions blah blah because you can't risk me getting too smart and fucking it up. If that is true, then everything is set in one way, that includes all of our interactions, that means all of our interactions must be the best possibly way to convince me and help me, right? Gandalf: Well... Frodo: Wait, that's how you are justifying being shitty and not helping me by actually helping me with what to do, telling me how to proceed, help get me supplies, tell me the weather, give me the exact map of every correct step I take. Prep me for any big surprises, then help protect me along every step, and so on. You are unwilling to do that right now. It's objectively not helpful, aka harmful. It needs a solid justification. "This harm ultimately being for the best," is really the only compassionate reason. Right now your actions are harmful, by not sharing all your info. That means they must be helpful in the future. That means you can read the future. That means the future is set in stone enough for you to know how exactly I can win and beat Sauron.

yet the Bible was written so unclearly that Christianity broke off into 30,000 denominations each with their own unique interpretation. The Bible's the big book of multiple choice, and most Christians are serving-platter Christians, choosing the passages that taste good and ignoring the unpalatable ones. Also, the Bible was written for low-education farmer-types. You shouldn't need advanced degrees in theology to interpret it correctly, it should be blatantly clear. Unfortunately what we get is passages telling you to smash a baby's head on a rock (Psalms 137:9), kill various minority groups, beat your slaves, etc...

I have had a lot of identical experiences to Sally. We don't always realize the information we have, thoughts we experience, memories we remember, etc. *_So much_** goes on in our subconscious.* We are pattern seeking, memory twisting, instinctual beings. There's so much about ourselves & our brains that we don't know, both from a medical side & a personal side (how our personal brains work). But if you look into psychology, you will see the reason you're having these clairvoyant, extrasensory perception (ESP) type experiences. Because, in fact, they aren't supernatural at all. Its actually so fascinating to learn about!

Sorry Barbara but the story of God saving you from drowning really upset me a lot. Did God save all the Christian children in the world from drowning that day? Can you imagine yourself telling the mother of the drowned child, sorry God had plans for me but not your child! Would you really be able to do that? Do you even come close to realise how morally despicable is this suggestion of a God that pick and choose whose child to save? Than you fill in the reason for the choice and, surprise, is in your favour, because you’re the “chosen one” right?😱🤮

I watch this show and The Thinking Atheist during the day, then relisten to The Thinking Atheist when I go to bed at night; just so I can fall asleep to Seth's amazing voice. I should make shirts that say "I go to bed with a hot atheist every night" and donate the profits to his channel. Lol!
