I'm coming from an atheistic (previously Christian) world view into Sikhi. Haven't found too much of an issue with the idea of Warheguru. The thing that's at the bottom of our questions about emotions, thoughts, atoms, subatomic particles, space, biology is reality, truth, and functionality. The fact that things CAN exist and DO is pretty damn amazing. I don't need to really concern myself with ruthlessly opposing something that I am a part and impart of. I may not becoming a Singh any time soon, but the tents of SGGS are good for me. "You feel like you should do more for the people around you? Rock on, you'll feel less shame than being lazy." I'm not going to use these writings as a cheat sheet for chemical engineering, minus the awe that I feel sometimes for how nature it's rules can work is a beautiful evolving mystery. Thank you, friends 🙏.

I'm a marxist & and sikh, they truly do go hand in hand. People often forget the second half of the marx quote "religion is the opium of the masses, a soul in a soulless world" marx is basically saying that religion is used by the state but equally it is the soul of the masses, it is their core and it is important. similarly people misquote Nietzsche when he says "god is dead and we killed him" he was actually morning the death of religion because there was nothing to replace it. I would also like to add this person seems to have a very basic understanding of marxism, he sounds more like a misguided anarchist with his talk of hierarchies. I truly hope he has come further in his political education since then!

I am too a marxist and a Sikh. It baffles me how ppl consider marxism or any socialism as opposition to Sikhi. It makes sense that the pillars of Sikhi would align with marxism, "kirt karni, vand shakna, naam japna", especially the first 2. I think those that consider comrades an enemy to Sikhi are not well versed in marxist theory or Sikhi. It would ofc be possible for ppl to be Sikh under an economic system where poverty is reduced, oppression is countered and ppl aren't exploited.

Jagi missed a critical point in the relationship of Sikhism and Marxism. One the he forgot to mention is... Is how Bhanda Singh Bhadar Ji and Buddah Dal overthrow the Moghuls who were the bourgeoisie at the time... This what Marx would have called a proletariat revelution against the Moghuls who had concentrated the wealth and land for the elites. This can be showcased when Bhanda Singh Bhandar redistributed this land after he defeated the Moghuls to various peasent class members regardless of religion. Ei. the Jats. it can be therefore argued that Bhanda Singh Bhandar was truly a Marxist who led a proletariat revelution (working class revolt) and was the first great Sikh general in history.

Does someone having "inner peace, confidence and overall [being] more spiritually and emotionally put together" mean that their god belief is true? If so, people of other religions can also claim the same thing. That is not a reliable way to test whether someone's god belief is true or not. Also, science is a method which allows anyone to test a claim for themselves. Religion teaches to believe every supernatural claim in a book without any external evidence or ability to test or falsify these claims. So in reality, which method actually encourages people to think for themselves without appealing to authority?

This guy does not seem to have thought through his own philosophical beliefs. No wages and everyone just gives to each other? That is a dream completely void of any rational economics, and a dreary one at that. Like bhai sahib said, it would be full totalitarianism. Marxists want you to think capitalism is all about controlling people but in reality, it is Marxism that is all about control. True laissez faire capitalism in an anarcho-capitalist society is the exact opposite of this. The "capitalism" that we have now is corrupt because of the existence of the state. Sikhi is about charity, not forcing people at gun point to give up a portion of what they have earned.

capitalism is not corrupt by the state, capitalism *requires* the state to maintain its own existence. Never has anarcho-capitalism existed in reality. In anarchist catalonia for example, where were the capitalists? they weren't creating your anarcho-capitalist utopia, they were begging franco to march in and "restore order". Historically, capitalism has always used the state to protect itself, because it needs the state to maintain private property rights. simple as that.

how is this thing "selling sikhi" ??
@vishalahuja21362 жыл бұрын
@@harnoor7135 when u are sell something, you talk about how your product is different from other. Sometimes you cleverly demean other products. If person has empathy like Guru Nanak dev or Buddha, you are helping other, if person intends to "sell", you pretend to help by merely propagating his idea/religion so that others come to join his commune. Actually we really cant tell, unless we know the intent. I have seen all his videos, it appears to me that he is insecure, hence sells his ideas. For an instance, in one of his videos( including this one) , he said "Buddhists dont have concept of god, but we have." Even if the listener is saying his approach is not God but science/evidence, he is "convincing" his ideology. This is what salesmen do. I understand that he wants to spread awareness, but true sikhi means service under pretext of social equality and justice(thats what karl marx, hindu dharma, buddha's dhamma, and jainism said). i.e., help the meek when power rests only in few people. In Western countries/developed countries, most people are upper-middle or rich. The real service/help is required in the developing country like India, where Govt is tyrrant right wing, and 90% poor people need real help/service. When such service/help is delivered then it is called sikhi. Till then its more like political hinduttva or political islamic. Only words, no real service. Stop fooling people n yourself.

@@vishalahuja2136 Hey vishal, thanks for the detailed answer, really appreciate it. I've read ur answer properly. Ok so, i want to reply abt that Buddhist thing first. Bhai jagraj said Buddhists don't have any concept of god, but we do. Right? Well what's wrong in that? I mean i hope you know this basic thing that in Buddhism they literally do not have any concept of god and they openly preach abt this thing (and if you do not, i request you to maybe go search on Google abt this, bec half knowledge is clearly more dangerous than no knowledge 😊). Buddhists don't believe in one god or one creator (leave one god, they don't even believe in god) or any kind of divine power. Pls tell, did bhai jagraj make fun or shame them for this? NO. You must have observed that he often uploaded those videos too where ppl bashed sikhism and didn't even try to understand it, and that videos too where ppl weren't satisfied with bhai ji's answers in the end. If he were insecure about his faith, he could have easily chose to just upload the ones where ppl appreciated sikhi and bhai jagraj in the end, but he didn't do that. I was going to ask a similar thing but it's not so much to do with labels as definitions. Pantheism is the belief that God is within everything in the universe, that the two are identical, whereas panentheism is the belief that God is a separate and greater entity who created the Universe but placed Him/Herself inside the Universe while also existing outside time and space. From what I've watched, Sikhi sounds more like the latter but feel free to correct me on that if I'm wrong.
