Honestly we need to spread awareness about sikhi. It hurts me when so many people don't know about it. Just today in my history class my teacher gave us 5 options for a religion project and the options were Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, and Buddhism. She said these are the 5 biggest religions in the world. I showed her that Sikhism is bigger then Judaism and she said she would change Hinduism for Sikhism on the options because they both believe that there are many gods but she said" Sikhism is too easy to research". I tried telling her about what Sikhism is but she never listened. We got to spread awareness. Like this if you agree.

Karandeep Shoker I agree , there are even some people in our Panth have their own beliefs , they trust their own matth and don't know much about Sikhi . Recently I spoke to a 'Sikh ' from leamington whose daughter had an Anand Karaj with a white guy . The worst thing about it was she said if you believe in God it shouldn't matter what religion you are , and it was fine (for them to have an interfaith wedding ) I was really disappointed at that answer , that our elders , parents don't know much about Sikhi and the Gurdwarey Allow it . You are right we have do spread awareness , BoS are doing a good job Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh

I would prefer to marry someone that's the same race or religion as you otherwise it makes things complicated but however I don't see anything wrong with that. I mean it's just two humans marrying and it doesn't matter much about the race and religion. I mean Sikhism is a pretty open religion which is open to anyone. So what's wrong with that.

From my perspective I don't see Sikhism to be that different from Hinduism. I realised that only after watching these videos. Sikhism is talking about Adhyatma Vidya coupled with Seva and Bhakti, that is simply beautiful.

feels like the atheist brother already had a preconceived idea of religion(s) and associated Sikhi to all of them. did not come into the discussion with an open mind as evidenced by his body language, posture, constant eye rolling. even the Christian brother was more open, albeit coming from a bit more exclusive ideology. the atheist wanted a lot of ego gratification in my opinion. ive been there. ego really is blinding. Guru Nanak was spot on.

@useran0nym0us
@useran0nym0us 3 жыл бұрын
@Harpreet Dhillon Vaheguru told the gurus to spread the message of god. We know that Sikhi is the truth as it is written in gurbani, why gurbani is the truth is that vaheguru gave the message directly to the gurus and then the message was conveyed into gurbani.The experience you have reading and understanding gurbani is an experience that you don't get from reading other books or novels etc. There is nothing illogical about sikhi as it came directly from vaheguru, if you still think that sikhi is not the truth then you obviously haven't read enough about sikhi and you are indirectly stating my Guru is a lier.

The man who comes in and says "God is a loaded word" makes a brilliant point. If we keep using the term "God" - a term misused and misrepresented, and a term that only points to Abrahamic views of God - people like the stubborn atheist gentleman (who wasn't actually listening) will always be on the offensive.
@traviscondy3978
@traviscondy3978 7 жыл бұрын
Use Waheguru. However; this isn't always possible though. When a Sikh uses the term God to explain something to someone who is uneducated about Sikhi you give them to impression that God is God as in the Abrahamic religion. Sikhi is not dualistic and using the word God implies that. Even if though don't know about Sikhi I believe using the word Waheguru which is not yet attached to a meaning to this say, John, can help them understand the difference between the two. Forgive me, I'm just trying to help - never to offend.

Mandeep Singh Great point. I think bhai Jagraj touched upon that when he used "the One/Creator" but since this wasn't clarified in the beginning, the athiest, as can be heard, started to generalise all faiths. God loves us and experiences that love constantly, just like a husband and wife the relationship is so much more beautiful when both sides are reciprocating that love. "The spiritual path involves controlling your lower desires and embracing your higher desires" This hit me deep. I have fallen victim to my lower desires way too many times in the form of binge drinking, drugs (I became an addict) and hookup culture. Granted i was often using booze, drugs and sex to deal with a lack of purpose in my life and to cope with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and identity issues. I was succumbing to my lower compulsive desires of lust, egotisim, and hedonism. This video has made me realise that what I have been missing is a spiritual relationship with God which can be attained through meditation. I am agnostic but Jagrai Singh, may he rest in peace, is teaching me so much. So grateful to have come across this channel. I need to explore Sikhism more.

Just wanna put this out there. I'm Christian and I have a tremendous amount of respect for Sikhism as a faith. The 10 Gurus are admirable figures and they remind me of the teachings I find with Christ as well as the saints within the Christian tradition. The two important teachings for me are the ones found with St John who states (i)God is Love. (ii) We are to live in a community of Love. The Disciple explains that a person who says they Love God but does not love their neighbor is a liar. I believe that this is a universal teaching common for all the great religions in our efforts to make the world a better place. Just also wanna put this out there that one doesn't need to be an exclusive in order to be a Christian. Inclusivism also has very strong strands as well. Pope Francis has spoken for instance about how even atheists can be saved saying "Non-Christians, by God’s gracious initiative, when they are faithful to their own consciences, can live “justified by the grace of God”,and thus be “associated to the paschal mystery of Jesus Christ”(Joy of the Gospel). This is because the Bible teaches what Jewish theologians called "ethical monotheism". Belief in God based on righteous actions. We aren't reconciled and judged based on "knowing the right things" which is what the Gnostics believed. We are judged by our actions. So when you look at the Good Samaritan for instance. For the perspective of Christ and Jewish leaders of that day, his beliefs were wrong because Samaritans were regarded as heretics. And yet Christ says that because he loved his neighbor he gained entry into the Kingdom of Heaven. In the Parable of the Sheep and Goats(Matthew 25:31-45) when Jesus speaks about judgement it isn't based on knowledge of the right ideas, but on our actions(how we treat the poor, the widow, orphan, the stranger and those in prison).

I believe God loves all and there are many paths to the divine. Just be a good human and feel the loving presence of the divine. Also, men and women AREN'T equal. We're the total opposites. This kind of argument will only come when we think GOD as a person or like a human being. No one can give any explanation of His form, dress, outline and complexion. God’s form is stable, He is self-illuminated, with immeasurable power. God is the king of millions of kings, and the King of kings of gods. God is the Lord of three worlds (land, air, water) not only gods, men and demons, but the whole vegetable world announces that none is equal and alike God. None can utter all of Your names. Wise men who realise Your virtues, call You in the same way.... So its not about GOD wanting us to remember him, but its on us to know GOD and merge back in....

The atheist man seems like a very tormented individual. The bar many set so high expected "the heavens split wide open" and fire and miraculous things to even consider belief in a higher power are missing an important thing: if such a world existed, with God showing his power in an openly flaunting kind of way, then our sense of freedom would be severely tainted.

Suffering with five thieves (ego, anger, lust, greed, attachment) is living in the hell. Our soul will keep changing different forms of the body until it becomes pure free from five thieves. Mind is seed of the body, next life will be based on thoughts in this life. We can carry on living with negative thoughts and get stuck in this endless cycle of birth and death or we can make our journey easy towards enlightenment sharing ideas and experience. It’s very hard but not impossible. One can go to Himalaya leaving personal and professional life and become a monk or find other ways. What SGGS describe you can still get enlighten living in this modern world and not run away from responsibilities. Gurbani describes how to control mind and have real experience and then you can relate that experience what Gurbani talking about. (God/Supreme Power/Almighty/Love etc.) is everywhere, you cannot experience until you become pure. For instance you cannot mix oil with water you have to become pure like water to mix with water.

You can easily/logically counter atheists and monotheists if you have in depth knowledge of hindu/vedic metaphysics. Soul = formless divine. Thoughts and body = intelligent energy. Neither the formless divine not its intelligent energy can exist without each other. In other words, the formless divine and its intelligent energy always exist together for the perpetual duality cycles to happen.

Jag is struggling logically in that debate because he is missing essential points. The god of The Jews , Christians and Muslims is NOT the WaheGuru..it is a minor Canaanite storm god. The Guru Granth Sahib was written by men, mortals..in the middle ages. They did not have ways to express things in the terms we use today. this is ancient knowledge that we got from the Sufi and it predates that. Our Gurus were preaching to common peasants, farmers who were steeped in Hindu myth and fantasy. Jag should have given them the physics argument. AND he should realise that our Gurus told us not to get bogged down on these technical details..the WaheGuru is beyond our understanding. Our task is to walk the path of it's Hukam..to go with the flow and assist all who are in the river with us..Christians, Jews..Muslims.

Gospel of Thomas discovered in 1945 at Nag Hammadi was when early Christianity believed in reincarnation until the satanic church burned every copy God saved one and which as i said earlier was discovered in 1945 Sikhi is noting like the Abrahamic religions Gospel of Thomas (1) And he said, "Whoever finds the interpretation of these sayings will not experience death." (2) Jesus said, "Let him who seeks continue seeking until he finds. When he finds, he will become troubled. When he becomes troubled, he will be astonished, and he will rule over the All." (3) Jesus said, "If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty." (111) Jesus said, "The heavens and the earth will be rolled up in your presence. And the one who lives from the living one will not see death." Does not Jesus say, "Whoever finds himself is superior to the world?" (112) Jesus said, "Woe to the flesh that depends on the soul; woe to the soul that depends on the flesh." (113) His disciples said to him, "When will the kingdom come?" "It will not come by waiting for it. It will not be a matter of saying 'here it is' or 'there it is.' Rather, the kingdom of the father is spread out upon the earth, and men do not see it." i wont give you the whole gospel but Jesus missing years which no Abrahamic religioun can say where he went but he traveled to India

Atheist was saying Sikhism / God is exclusive because it does not let immoral and evil people into salvation. Thats like saying Evolution / Human body is exclusive because it does not give abs and muscles to lazy people who don't workout or control their diet. Salvation in terms of Sikhism is becoming one with God. If God starts letting impure souls into salvation then God would become impure as well. Thats why there is Re-incarnation. One life after another you keep strengthening your soul until you become a saint like human.

@zoomin In Search for God, The God of Spirituality" All religions teach that every man has a potential to reach God, but practically they say: Only “our” religion is the true religion to realize that potential. Yes, every man can reach God but he has to reach through our way: Unless you follow Jesus Christ you have no chance. But the same is said by Krishna (Hindu God): "If you surrender to me, leaving everything aside, I will take care of you, you need not worry." And the same is true about all other religions including Islam. They seem to be competing shopkeepers -- everybody is trying to sell his thing: his holy book, his messiah, his God". But Sikh religion does not belong to this category. The message of GGS is universal and does not claim any monopoly in being the only door for liberation.

To Atheists - Would you agree that nothing cannot produce something? If so, then if the universe did not exist but then came to exist, wouldn’t this be evidence of a cause beyond the universe?

Would it be rational to believe this cause is, 'God' ?

@illy kitty yeah, start chanting the name of God & try to feel that love it produces and unexceeded bliss ! A truth must be perceived in that calm awareness which is super-consciousness. Meditation, then, is not creating answers: It is perceiving them. And this is the secret of true guidance. The stilled mind will be able to start functioning properly and one become more aware of the reality around us. Most people seldom listen. They 'listen' while thinking, when can I interrupt and what can I say. They’re like an out-of-tune musical instruments. Because they no longer are able to tune into their own essential nature, their inter-actions with life and other people produce only discords. They are deaf to the symphony of sounds in the world around them. They are deaf to other people, for they are more interested in speaking their own minds.

Guru Arjan Dev (5th Guru sahib) tells us, that we forget the Lord and indulge in our plans and schemes: "They do not know the One who created them; they think up all sorts of schemes and plans." (SGGS p297). For true connection with the Creator, one has to break this constant loop about our personal schemes and plans that are perpetually going round in our minds

I can't decide if the Atheist genuinely doesn't understand what inclusivity means, or if he is actively trying to be obtuse.

the atheist is very... unlikeable. and not because of his belief, but the way he expresses himself. "your imaginary friend" "nasty, petty people"... and he's probably the most exclusive in this whole discussion

The first and the last statements, though - tying it all together. "God created the earth through making a sound, right?" [Expressions of God's glory and the dance of karma, the play of nature and spirit, between jivaatmans and the laws of the universe.] "God is neither good nor bad at that level." ਨਾ ਹਮ ਚੰਗੇ ਆਖੀਅਹ ਬੁਰਾ ਨ ਦਿਸੈ ਕੋਇ ॥: naa ham changae aukheeaah, buraa na disai ko-iee ।।: I am not called good, and I see none who are bad (sggs 1015). ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਤਿਚਰੁ ਆਖਦਾ ਜਿਚਰੁ ਹੈ ਦੁਹੁ ਮਾਹਿ ॥: buraa bpalaa ticharu aakhdaa jicharu hai duhu maahi ।।: One calls others bad and good, as long as he himself is in the control of duality (sggs 757). Altogether, lovely. I don't know what else I can say.

Sikh brother you are wasting time of others and yours. It would have been more appropriate if you explained their religion from all religions behalf. You are preaching Sikhism and I bet you, even you do not know about it. I do not understand why you are so interested in this preaching to begin with. Sorry but I had to add "Pad Pad Pandit auran samjhaye, Ghar Jalte ki khabar na paye" Means.... "Scholars keep on explaining the scriptures but they too are burning in thier hearts and minds that they do not address first" Do not dare replying!

Then u tell how does hydrogen suddenly came into existence out of the blue Science doesn't mean technology or rejecting beliefs And religion has nothing to do with science A religion is for the peace of mind U might agree on something that a certain kind of music can give us mood swings But music is there even before the invention of certain electronic device Now without the electricity those devices are useless Without the science there still a life And man is human just because the religion We have come through centuries of barbaric nature and customs do to come to this day and its the religion which teaches us compassion and mercy brought us here And btw religion doesnt teach u ethnic tensions racist views and several other things which has nothing to do with religion

Sat Sri Akal I honestly had to stop watching this after a few minutes. Arrogance and ego has consumed so many people. Diluting their ability to digest the information they have obtained. They lack wisdom to apply their knowledge. The Christian is so programmed to believe a myopic view of the universe they become blind. The "scientist" has tunnel vision from his knowledge. Hes so convinced hes right, he completely misses the point. Adressing his childish comments about sound propagating through a vacuum. He failed to remember all things resonate with frequency. Quasars, the sun, the earth. All in a vacuum. Ong was the "sound" of that frequency. Ek Onkar... Sat Nam Waheguru Ji 🙏❤️ ☬ ❤. Find the tenth door and open it up. You'll find contentment, peace and answers to all your troubles. Thank you
