This walk is by far the most regular walk I make since I was young , train to Edale, coffee at the cafe, trail up to the plateau via grindsbrook , down back the same way or via ringing Roger, into the nags for a little food and a warm and back on the train. Its like a tonic for the soul . More power to Athena for representing a walk that's so important to many of us from Manchester and Sheffield

Hi Athena, I would love review of gear and especially outdoor clothes. I would love your opinion on different jackets, backpacks, boots etc. I think those are sometimes difficult to figure out when you’re starting to invest in more expensive, high quality materials. I would like to have to those either in a separate video or if included in a vlog to add them to a separate playlist so that it’s easier to find them 6 months later. Love, love your videos and so glad I found your channel. Please continue! 😍

Love your videos. I also appreciate it must be so tricky to find a balance with supporting brands and gifted items. I personally think your reviews are fantastic, with so much choice on the market it’s very overwhelming to make a choice and mistakes are not a only annoying but expensive so I’d rather buy a really good items once, than keep re-buying the same thing multiple times. Most people research expensive items online before buying so all of your reviews would be very well received. Ps I have some Ruffwear items for my dog and although expensive the quality is fantastic and the gear still looks great after 3 years wear, tear and washing etc.

Hi Athena, I think that gear reviews are really helpful. I hike only occasionnally, so I like having the advice of more experimented female hikers. Beautiful landscapes anyway !

I have had a “ Pocket Rocket” stove for about 10 years, and a miniature Italian Coffee Pot, done much as that lovely lass has done. Best bit of kit I own. Been on all the Camino De Santiago, Pilgrimages, I have done so far. By the way, I have had a pair of “ pack lite” breathable over trousers , paid £70 -00 ten years ago. Still 100% good on the hill. Watching you go hiking is very inspiring, and in that sense I think you are obtaining your main goal. It always makes me go out for a walk, at least ;-) As for gear reviews, I am glad you mention equipment you like using. Especially since you are based in the UK, and the brands you mention can be bought in Europe most of the time as well. Other hiker videos I get recommended by KZbin feature US hikers, and the gear they use is not always easy to buy in my country (or shipping costs are way too much)

Hello Athena. Personally I was researching with some other youtubers about the gear and I've bought Lowe Alpine backpack and Patagonia jacket just because of you. So you can see that it works :) When it comes to gear recommendations personally I found blogposts or lists of gear more useful than the whole video itself. I also think that when people search for gear they look for the whole package so mentioning items one by one in videos would be hard to follow. What I've seen others doing is that they upload every now and then Gear update videos where they say what did they change in last year and why and those are helpful!

Love a good gear review! Recently I've got a lot more in the mindset of making an investment in kit that will serve me well and last. I feel like you definitely have that ethos too, so often i'll find myself scrolling through comments or looking in the description box to see if you've mentioned what you're using/wearing in a vid. Hi Athena, I’ve enjoyed your past videos where you talk about what you bring on hikes, I guess it’s a good way to review the items themselves but also give a bigger picture. One thing I would like to hear your thoughts about is how you can use your gear smartly so that you don’t have to buy lots of things, which is both beneficial from an environmental and economic perspective I guess. So far example, can you use the same clothes in winter as in summer if you layer wisely, that kind of thing. Really enjoy your videos ❤️

Great video, I believe companies send you kit hoping you will give it a mention and if you think it's good quality, useful and worth the cost then go ahead and tell us. The Ruff dog harness looks great but expensive. My GSD could do with one as he needs loads of water and two meals a day at over 500 gms each he can carry a couple of days worth easy. Recently came across your site really good stuff, your so lucky to live where you do. Will be getting your book when it's ready.
