I am planning a trip to Athens soon just for three days and found this video very useful. It is far easier to watch this than buy a guide book! Thank you!

There is also the express bus X80, which I believe is more expensive, but faster. "We would like to inform you that the X80 “Piraeus - Acropolis - Syntagma EXPRESS” bus line was created in order to provide the best service possible to passengers and visitors - tourists of the city. The routes of X80 bus line are operated from May to October (the exact dates are announced), connecting the cruise ship terminal station of OLP in Piraeus (Xaveriou Coast and Miaouli Coast) to Acropolis and downtown Piraeus to downtown Athens."

Hello Mark, yes, I saw the X80 bus stop within the terminal area but the buses were not operating (I was there at the end of May), so I wasn't sure whether to put that info in the video. :) But, sure, it's good to know and if someone has used this line, please share your feedback in the comments!

@@AdventourBegins trains are another good option...but I guess that depends where someone is in the port. It could be a short walk or quite a quite a long walk with a lot of luggage.

Hi thanks for your videos I love them! I'll be in Athens next week for 1 day cruise stop, so I think I'll take the hop on hop off bus option to visit arround and including the Acropolis entrance so I buy it with the bus ticket and I can skip the line at Acropolis.
@AdventourBegins6 ай бұрын
Sounds like a great plan, enjoy your cruise! 😇
@Fefinho836 ай бұрын
@@AdventourBegins Hi and thanks! Just one thing to clarify that I realized yesterday: the Acropolis ticket can't be bought along with the hop on hop off bus anymore, we have to buy it online. Best regards!
@AdventourBegins6 ай бұрын
@@Fefinho83 Either online, but there is also an option on-site. At the entrance to Acropolis, there is a code displayed that you can scan and it will take you directly to the page where you can buy the tickets. Once you have your tickets, you can skip the line and go inside. That's how I did it. Enjoy your time there, Acropolis is so impressive!

Hi! Thank you! No, I will visit Delphi hopefully next time! :)

Awesome Video thanks for sharing. At the cruise port terminal, is there restaurants where you can taste the cuisine? Or do you have to walk out of port nearby for the restaurants? Thanks again, Best Regards.
@AdventourBegins3 ай бұрын
@@jasondelprado1562 Thank you! Not really, you need to go into town, which is at least 15 minutes by walk. Piraeus city center is around 20 minutes walk, although it depends in which terminal your ships dock, some terminals are closer to the center while some are about 20 mins walk. In Piraeus you can shop and dine, there are some landmarks too, but I highly suggest you get on a metro and go to Athens, the ride is only 15 mins. In Athens, get off at Monastiraki or Syntagma stations, and you'll be in the heart of thr city. 😇

Hop on hop off can be used to stop at the airport as the last stop? I saw it as an excursion but worried about the luggage
@AdventourBegins2 ай бұрын
Hi! As far as I know, there's no Hop on Hop off that directly connects the airport and port. Some companies may offer airport transfer included in the price of a sightseeing tour, but that varies by the company. I would choose this option only if a cruise line offered it because in that case it's guaranteed they will take you to the port on time.

I don’t see where you bought the SIM card. Thank you for a very informative video Also are the hop on hop off busses in front of the terminal? Or do you have to go out and look for it? And where do they drop in Athens ?
@AdventourBegins9 ай бұрын
Hello! I actually use Airalo's e-SIM card. In the description of this video, you'll see the link, all you need to do is download the app and choose the regional or local SIM card, they have many options depending on the country or region you want to have covered. I used it in Greece, Spain, Italy and the US, it worked great and it's affordable, and the best thing is - you don't have to physically buy it and insert it in your device. As for Hop on Hop off, they are in front of each terminal and they include stops at major landmarks, so you can choose where to hop off. I definitely suggest you hop off at Monastiraki Square or Syntagma Square to start your exploration. I hope this helped! Enjoy Athens! 😇

Is there a link to how the HOp ON Hop Off busses work? The fare and if you can buy the tickets in advance?
@AdventourBegins Жыл бұрын
Hello! On Google, you can find numerous websites selling Hop on Hop off tours in Athens. I prefer Viator and Get Your Guide, as I booked numerous times through them. You can search for their tours by clicking the links in the description of this video (I am affiliated with them). Other than that, you can simply search "Athens Hop on Hop off tours" on the browser, and you'll get many more options. The prices vary based on the itinerary and company, however, they are usually about 20 EUR per person. Hope this helps :)

What's the best way to get from the port to the airport
@AdventourBegins2 ай бұрын
Hi there! There are several options. The most convenient and expensive one is by taxi, I don't know how much they charge but when I was traveling from the Airport to Athens city center they charged me 50 euros. The most affordable and very good option is by metro, the Blue Line 3 connects the port directly to the airport. There is also a bus line X96. I found this super useful article on the Airport's official page, it covers all transportation options from the port to the airport: athens-international-airport.com/transportation/airport-transfer-to-piraeus-port/
